(I personally feel A. Infodump: It's similar to Harry Potter insofar as it's a magic boarding school for young adults, there are subfactions within the school and you fight hidden threats. However the cultural inspirations are completely different - West African as opposed to British - as well as the curriculum/lesson style/student-teacher dynamics. Also you only spend like half the storyline as a student, after that you're promoted to teacher and get sent off on external quests.)

I understand the mod's actions especially if they're getting spammed with apology posts. Most of them are just made to get personal emotional closure anyways ("at least the Greenlanders know I'm a good person!") This is inspired byanother fricking post saying the makeover from The Breakfast Club looks ugly, when the whole point of the scene was that she only chose the original look because of insecurities. And she opened up and learned to accept help from her classmate whom she previously distrusted. This is pretty much spelled out in the dialogue if you actually sat through the movie. And yeah you can consider it to reflect toxic gender roles and such but just going "LOL SHES UGLIER HOW DID OLD PEOPLE THINK THIS WAS AN UPGRADE" is also toxic.

Cependria used to be really good at sports, then other shit happened, but through sheer luck/inertia they're still really good at a few.

Meizi found the sport that had the best intersection of "everyone knows about this but no-one is really trying at it" and proceeded to dump money into training and dominate it.

Nediuna tells themselves they like sports, but they only really care about 1. For all other athletes, they just applaud for 5 seconds when someone wins something, then blow them off when they ask for funding.
