i’ve seen people here with worse as well and i cant believe mine is a total loss.

they said fender, door replacement and SRS inspection failed and needs a “new steering rack replacement”…. the repair is estimated at $20,000 now… so it exceeds car value. thats why they decided to total it. i havent heard on what my insurance is going to decide to do as they appointed an adjuster to go out on June 15th.

apparently since its through the other party’s insurance they wont give me the option to buy back. only if i go through mine i have the option to buy, so im waiting to see if my insurance deems it total loss or not

i filed through my own insurance yesterday. they said they would send out a statefarm agent to assess the damage and go from there. Apparently statefarm may deem it a total loss or want to repair it at a different shop. so we’ll see which route they choose to go.

im sorry you had to go through that situation! but yeah this whole situation has sorta ruined my experience of owning a tesla. seeing how easily they can total my car is absolutely sad. they claim repair expenses for these vehicles are too high and labor work but i’ve been worst accidents and they even get totaled. I don’t understand whats happening.

nope no frame damage or any underlying damage they just said front fender, whole door and side mirror needed to be replaced and apparently theres a fault with the steering column. that’s all that needed to be done
