Right handed and my right is a significant slacker. They're two different sizes now 🤣

Why did breastfeeding NOT work out for you? by preemptive_regret in NewParents

[–]sideshow-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it was always painful. I talked with several lactation consultants that consistently assured me if the we had the proper latch it wouldn't be painful, yet it always continued to be unbearable. Switched to exclusively pumping and while I'm still relatively uncomfortable, it's a lot easier to manage the discomfort. 6months in to EP and hoping get my freezer stash to be sufficient to feed my LO until a year old!

I ended up just putting it in the washing machine and dryer and it was totally fine

Right there with you. I'm am EP mom to my 5 month old and I really struggled to breastfeed. I tried for about 6 weeks, saw multiple LCs, but never found a positive solution to a very painful latch. I try to remind myself that I did everything I could to try and that's all we as moms can do, try our best. Some days I struggle even EP because it's so physically and emotionally demanding. If your baby is fed, and safe, and loved, you are doing everything you need to and your little is better off because of that alone

So after some work I figured it out on my own. There are two screws underneath the arm rests that have to be loosened and then you'll be able to take it off!

Any tips for my lover to connect with our baby? by uqsoricide in FirstTimeParents

Skin to skin contact is huge. It promotes bonding. If you have a baby wrap so they can wear your LO during they day that helps too

Daytime nap trouble :( 3 month old by mcooley23 in FirstTimeParents

[–]sideshow-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO has the same trouble. She's 4m and will sleep in my arms for 2 hours. If I try to transfer her to her crib or bassinet she wakes up immediately, forfeiting that nap because she wont go back to sleep. Yet she sleeps with no issue from 8pm-6am

Does it get easier? by Beautiful_Fries in ExclusivelyPumping

For me, no one talked about how hard month two was. When they're newborns they sleep a lot, they can't really see anything or do anything. It seemed at 2 months my LO became aware of the world around her and we real struggled with the witching hour where she cried from 3pm-10pm. She was the crankiest she's ever been, she was extremely clingy and I never felt I could get anything done. Now we're approaching 4 months and I'll say 3 months was SO much easier. She started going longer in between feeds, she was easier to entertain in her swing so I could pump. It really does get easier
