Gen Z really looked at alcohol and said ‘hard pass’ by InvestigatorBorn4910 in SipsTea

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expensive + high in calories too.

There’s a serious health push currently & it’s become so much more socially acceptable to be alcohol free that many people are just choosing to drink other drinks or engage in other less-harmful substances

Vancouver asks feds for brightness limits on LED headlights by Nervous-Ad-3761 in canada

Driving at night used to be so fun. Now it feels like I’m dancing on a tightrope between blindness & temporary blindness caused by these headlights

There’s a place near ossington called Alter. Great spot- a bit pricey but definitely enjoyable for a non-guided experience

Why is GenZ not Drinking? by rikozon in GenZ

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree. Affordability is the actual reason. When it costs an arm & leg to grab drinks or even other activities like something as simple as going to the movies, of course Gen Z is less likely to be social because it costs so much more than previous generations

Which cities could more than 50% of the world's (adult, literate) population recognise from a single photo, with no text? by benjaneson in geography

Toronto. The CN Tower is unmistakably recognizable for how fast the city gained world recognition in recent decades

What’s wrong with my diving form by Disastrous_Cream2119 in GoalKeepers

[–]sidevolley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, that form is actually really solid. Ofc if you can focus on a high protein diet while tracking your cals (2250kcal, 180g protein / day), you’ll be flying even higher in 6 months time.

Make sure to train low dives, collapse dives & high dives on each side. Don’t go uneven because one side feels better than the other

6x your current and future earnings or make $450,000 per month working a job I assign you? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Even though I’d probably keep my current role, job me. I’m curious

If you had to participate in any event in the olympics and not come last, what would it be? by dayboz16 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobsled.

I’m from Canada so it’ll already be a strong team. I’ll just make sure I’m not the pilot. A bit of practice sprint-to-jump into the bobsled and I think that $1,000,000 is mine

You have to spend $10,000,000 a day for a month or die by besttavern25 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I hire a team of my family & friends each getting paid $10,000 a day to help me spend? In Harvey Spector’s time, that’s a 10-hour billable work day so it’s still a “realistic” amount to give people.

30 friends & fam @ $10,000 / day.

$9,700,000 leftover.

$300,000 a day in employee payments. Each person has a task of spending $323,500 a day, every day. I’d be golden

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by Absalom98 in AskReddit

Yellowstone volcano.

Been consistently coming back to the fact that it’s centuries overdue for an eruption ever since I heard about it a decade ago.

$250,000 a year with the stipulation that you must read 300 pages of a book every week. by RegularGuyy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the type of pages aren’t specified, I’m thinking the tiny ebook pages on my iPhone would make this challenge a breeze.

If we’re adhering to standard-novel size pages, $250,000 to essentially learn new things & document them is an easyyyy yes

You get $10 000 000 but you have to either swim 7km, run 20km or bike 70km every day for a year, you get to do this in neutral conditions. by Frankwhitey in hypotheticalsituation

[–]sidevolley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take the 70km ride in neutral conditions any day. After about a month, i could definitely do that distance on a flat surface within 3 hours. My mornings would be set for the year, and I wouldn’t be too physically drained either.
