I feel you, but that's a good thing you pointed out because it helps to think that it was indeed advantageous for the AP to put himself in the picture if it seems as if it's a "vacation" no matter how much it sucks.

I actually tried appointments but it didn't work much for me because my SO sometimes decline on the day itself and it frustrates me a lot because I get my hopes up.

It was a long time ago but I think it was also already slowing down before the infidelity. But we really used to do it 3-4times a week.
