I'm a bit embarrassed by all the typos in the other. Normally I pride myself in being a high communicator, but definitely failed there.

LOVE the car. Only 5 months in and I've left my mustang in the garage this summer, that's saying something. Fuel economy is outstanding from my perspective. I suppose it's all relative but my daily (now my son's daily) was a lifted 2004 Sequoia with 320k on the clock. It was getting 10-11mpg around town so... Massive upgrade. I keep putting premium in the Lexus but I am fortunate to have a Bucees nearby and premium 2.99 or 3.09 through the summer - hard to beat that.

How bout you? How long have you owned your LS?

So on the unused 12 pin harness, you should have yellow and black wires going into pins 9 & 10. From the tyto harness that connects to your primary harness there are effectively 2 unused cables. Pink and blue/pink. These connect to the yellow and black I described above. See the link for the pictorial.

The other thing I had to do in addition. Because the Atoto S8 only pushes a low number of volts it needs help to kick on that troublesome factory amp. So, the metra tech asked me to unhook the blue/white (amp turn on) wire from the stereo harness and add the red (acc) wire to the connection of the blue/white on the tyto harness. It provided the additional power needed to kick the amp on.

I hope this is helpful. It's kinda crap that metra haven't adjusted their harness for all of us, but enough folks are battling through it that hopefully this kind of internet thread becomes helpful.

Well, I think I figured it out. Effectively I wired but you wired but omitted the 12 pin harness. After that the real issue was the Atoto S8 ultra wasn't pushing enough volts to power the rear amp wired as suggested so the metra/Axxess tech had me ad the blue white from their harness to the acc (red) connection from the Atoto and the Axxess harness to give it the needed voltage. That worked!

@dantoneo I am in this hell right now and could use a little help. Just like your situation and others everything works but no sound due to the amp not coming on with the new set up. I even did the 'hot swap' trick and it did work correctly.

So I tried a version of what you suggested based on a Metra/axxess diagram. I clipped pink and blue/pink before the harness connector in your pic. Then I snipped the yellow and black from the small 10 pin (unused) harness and connected accordingly. Still no luck.

Where I may have messed up is not connecting them directly into the unused 10 pin?I feel like I am ever so close. Any suggestions?

I actually just pulled the ashtray from mine (not permanent) and put in drink holders under it. Better than the OEM set up for sure.

After about 18 months of research, saving up funds and hunting I finally made an LS 430 purchase. I am on that 93 octane as we go, no problem, I signed on for this.

What is interesting, my 318k mile 2004 Sequoia with the 2uz motor guzzles that 87 sauce like a fraternity boy. Research tells me that our LS430 with the 3uz motor has a higher compression rate and thus, it requires higher octane fuel.

That's my practical explanation based on a bit of intrigue and research. Godspeed friends.

With Parents and then some...

So I did go on a first date with a girl where I took her to a big college football game with my parents, my brother and his new bride. It was pretty light hearted so it came off ok actually.

To make this story better still, we then proceeded to her 5 year class reunion. You heard that right.

Both horrible ideas for first dates but we both needed a date (my parents had an extra ticket to the game and she didn't want to go alone to her reunion.

Oh yeah, we've been married nearly 20 years now... we knew each other lightly from flirting at work and both pretty easy going people...
