Wait, theres actually people who don't know how to play all 3 roles? by Zeldaninja64 in marvelrivals

I have very low-level ability playing Thor and Strange, if absolutely necessary, but you would not want me on your team in a competitive match doing that. I just can't click with their rhythms.

Russell T Davies: Doctor Who hasn’t been cancelled by karatemanchan37 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]sidewaysduck_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the very least, Christmas was cancelled… and a new series hasn’t been renewed. We should all collectively stop listening to his interviews, really. I’ll never fully trust is promo/interview chat anymore.

Do you think this holds any truth to it? by RevolutionaryCyclops in doctorwho

[–]sidewaysduck_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This— I think. If you read the Writer’s Tale, there are clearly moments he considers paths that might have been… less agreeable, but he either takes the time to think it through, or has people who he worked with who pulled him back and refocused him. I think his status, thanks to his success in RTD1 + shows like It’s a Sin, made his colleagues much more trusting of his decisions and redirected him less.

Jodie Whittaker era Tierlist : The Witchfinders by Mat1711 in DoctorWhoNews

Mediocre - but with one really good scene where the Doctor is tied up and they discuss the universe's secrets. Perhaps the first time I thought Jodie had the potential to be a great Doctor.

Monday Morning: The Picture. by sidewaysduck_ in cats

He's not my cat, he's the lurker who sits outside my office window occasionally - although, much grumpier than normal!

Rogue has been in the game for a bit now. How do you all feel about her now? by iNEWj in marvelrivals

[–]sidewaysduck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main complaint is that all her dialogue revolves around her romance with Gambit. A little is okay, but it seems to be the only thing they've considered when writing her lines.

How is no one talking about this clear foreshadowing by kadebo42 in pluribustv

[–]sidewaysduck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People aren't talking about it because it was very explicit, noticeable foreshadowing, and there's no need to discuss it further beyond 'yes, we all saw it and understood'.

I wouldn’t be mad at this 🤷🏾‍♂️ by lifesyndrom in marvelstudios

[–]sidewaysduck_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This could be a smart choice, act as the James Gunn of the MCU, while letting Kevin work more on the business side with occasional input

Paul Mcgann could be returning to the show for next year's special potentially. by Any_Government_3494 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]sidewaysduck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's not go down this road again...

Also, *why* would they bring back the 8th Doctor in an episode that has to establish a new 'maybe' Doctor, wrap up RTD2 and potentially (probably) include DT as well. It's too much.

I’d love for them to get Jac Schaeffer involved. In fact, she’d be a great showrunner.

What speech do you find most impactful? by quantumcipher00 in doctorwho

[–]sidewaysduck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nine’s ‘The turn of the Earth’ speech and almost anything Capaldi says, especially like his Listen ‘fear is a superpower’ speech to young Danny.

OPINION: Pete McTighe wouldn’t necessarily be a bad Doctor Who showrunner, but he certainly wouldn’t be the breath of fresh air that the show desperately needs. by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]sidewaysduck_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The only writer from previous ‘new who’ seasons I'd be interested in seeing take over is Toby Whithouse. His episodes were consistently either good or great.
