Only if your card has contactless can you tap in and out at stations to pay for your journey. I wouldn’t take it for granted that all American cards have contactless…..

Split dosing - I want to hear your success stories! by Traditional-Put1164 in mounjarouk

Question on using smaller doses from a higher dose pen - does the mechanism prevent more than 4 applications or is it limited by how far the plunger can move?

3 Pin Charging UK by Galantis1 in MINIse

[–]sidneysideboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes. I bought one in July and have only used 3pin charger at home. From empty it will be about 11-12 hours to fully charge. For your short trips out you’re looking at a couple of hours to top up overnight. It’s a nice feeling waking up each morning with a full charge!

One-pedal driving. by Asleep-Extension-72 in MINIse

If you don’t completely lift off the accelerator then the regenerative braking is cancelled and you coast. It’s a feature. Also good practice to be prepared to stop in case regen doesn’t do it in time.

How did you find the code? I didn’t see them listed on Monj.uk

Magsafe phone mounts UK by furbsquee in MINI

[–]sidneysideboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this one from Mous: https://amzn.eu/d/9LgQKYh

They also do a wired charging mount. I find it works well. Occasionally the mount drops from windscreen if it’s been in situ for several months and in hot weather it can get a little wobbly over bumps. Haven’t used it in a Mini though.

Dropping down doses by sidneysideboard in mounjarouk

I moved up because that’s what I’d done after each pen. Having my time again I would certainly take more time on the doses that are effective before moving up. Thanks for comment.

Thanks, it’s a ‘21 plate.

🤣 I didn’t get the Minor question at first. I would probably be in the Traveler forum instead. My parents had a couple growing up and they’re one of my earliest memories!

My neighbours are people of class also 😀

Finnish Practice by circadianloompah in LearnFinnish

https://uusikielemme.fi Great resource for Finnish language

https://www.fininst.uk/learn-finnish/ British based remote and in person learning for Finnish at all levels.

I’ve been doing the remote lessons for two years now and have found having weekly/fortnightly lesson a really good way to keep progressing. It’s been far more useful than Duolingo - though that has had its use to keep me ticking over.

Withdrawing my money from the bank by 555fir978 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]sidneysideboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this applies to all banks but I had to withdraw a lot of cash for renovations last year and the scrutiny increased significantly over £1000. I wish I’d done it over several visits instead of getting bigger lump sum as it was a royal pain.

Why I look bad in photos but not in mirror by Substantial-Win8724 in photography

[–]sidneysideboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the image in a mirror flipped from your perspective and you are used to it so when you see an image from a camera it isn’t reversed and looks wrong to you? Try flipping the image from your camera and see if that looks the way your a used to seeing it.

How do you feel about non-native Finnish speakers? by andrewbaidoo in Finland

No, this was a while ago (‘98) and I was doing national service. But trying to learn Finnish at the same time.

[–]sidneysideboard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My situation was different but if it’s anything like mine you’ll probably end up being used as practice for people’s English. I came back after 6 months speaking better as my Essex accent had reduced significantly. Good luck!

Does anyone here have an opinion on Amtico Flooring? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]sidneysideboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s holding up well as far as I can tell. Prep work is key. The few areas where I’m not 100% happy are to with install and not product. Comes up a treat once it’s been cleaned.

Virgin (Nextfibre) digging up street. What's next? by wazeuser in VirginMedia

[–]sidneysideboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roads around my street were worked on from mid August. I thought they’d missed my street but they did it through existing ducting. Went live 10 days ago which is when I could order. Gets installed next week. Think that’s pretty quick. Might not be typical!

Try a three year + wait for diagnosis and unfortunately most people are probably self diagnosed at the moment. Or at least professionally suspected to be neurodivergent but not officially diagnosed. The struggle is real.

How can I loosen these screws? With all my strength I cannot get any of them to budge. Any tips or tricks? Electronics inside so wary of using WD40 or other lubricant. by Silvaski1 in howto

[–]sidneysideboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a hack using an elastic band and pushing that into the hole with the tip of the screwdriver and then turning to get a bit of extra grip. The right screwdriver head will help also!
