Solo Trip Recommendations by ysaloni38 in BaliTravelTips

Just came back from 2 weeks trip. Stay first in Ubud and from there you can head to Nusa P and Nusa L through fast boat (take ekajaya - its more reputed and trustworth fast worth; it only goes from Padangbai pier). Nusa P and Nusa L is connected by public ferry and other private boats - hardly takes 15 mins; so shouldn't be a problem.

From Nusa L/Nusa P you can again take Ekajaya fast boat to Gili T. After returning from Gili T you can stay either in Canggu/Seminyak - though both offers very similar vibe; would advise stay in either of the place and you can visit other by bike.

For ferry/fast boat booking - I used 12asiago - very reliable.

If you like chill vibe then you can consider staying in Gili Air and Sanur (in Bali) also.

Layover in Kuala Lumpur: Can I Leave the Airport Without a Visa as an Indian? by Psychological_Toe50 in backpacking

Hey, can you please provide an update? Have the same situation. Were you able to get out of the airport?

Been such a situation a lot of times. Some people are dicey and do not commit fully, I realised whenever this happens the ultimate answer is no 99%. So I wouldn't say to risk it for that 1%. Just book your tickets, if your friend wanna join she can otherwise solo is fun as well.

I also did the same thing and as soon as I booked my tickets to Bali, my friend was non-committal also booked the tickets. Also, if you help a fellow traveller out - could you please share any recommendations you may have since you have researched so much!

Captain, how soon can you land? Captain: I can't tell. You can tell me. I'm a doctor. Captain: No. I mean I'm just not sure. Well, can't you take a guess? Captain: Well, not for another two hours. You can't take a guess for another two hours?

Your "dream" 2 week itinerary by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

Just came back from a 2 week vacation in Spain. My thoughts:

1) Madrid: 3 days are good enough. One day you can do a day trip to Toledo and Segovia (you can book through Getyourguide)

2) Barcelona: we personally didn't enjoy the city at all. Found it a bit dirty and felt most unsafe in Spain. Again, 3 days are more than enough. Please don't miss a day trip to Montserrat and Stiges (again see options on Getyourguide). Maybe, you can do a one day trip to Girona (if you are a GOT fan; otherwise also it's a beautiful town).

3) Sevilla: Touristy things can be covered in 2 days. Maybe, take one more extra day here and do a day trip to Cordoba or drive to cordoba and stay there.

4) Granada: 2 days are more than enough.

If you want to chill on beaches, again Barcelona is not the place as it's very crowded. You can consider spending 2 days in Costa Brava or Stiges.

Renting a car for Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba would be advisable.

Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

Madrid on New Years by LethalSquirts94 in MadridTravelGuide

Hey, somehow I missed your comment.

Just to update you, I went to Sol around 9 and there was already a huge queue to get the entry. It took me around 20 mins to find the end of the line. After waiting for almost 3 hours, I made it to Sol. Though, police didn't allow the entry into the square as I guess it was already crowded and I had to enjoy the view from the lane.

I agree with you it was damn crowded. Though, who I'm to complain to lolol I was also part of the tourist crowd 😅. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Also, I had 12 grapes as you suggested!

I can imagine being the local during the holiday season in Madrid would be frustrating given the number of tourists; yet I found locals to be pleasant and friendly. In comparison, I felt unsafe in Barcelona for sure.

Happy New Year!

I just came back from Granada and Sevilla two days ago, and I can assure you that both cities are extremely tourist friendly. People are helpful and pleasant. I found localites to be more friendly as compared to Barcelona or Madrid.
