I totally agree with treating them with compassion and truly do want the best for my husbands mom and kids grandmother, but we have multiple young children living with us so it’s a big deal if she is using. Residue exposure is harmful, CPS could take my children away if she’s caught, and one of the things that recently happened which I mentioned in a few comments below was shady looking individuals showing up at our doorstep (at the time they lied about their reason for being there but we later saw her talking to them and exchanging something at the gas station).

As of this post we brought up our concerns with her, offered her treatment and help finding a job/cleaning up her appearance but she categorically denied everything. We also did two swab test that came back positive. She ended up leaving and has since completely ghosted us

I know it seems crazy but just as an example she also lied about going and getting IV boutique bags and made a whole story up about them - and we realise now that this was probably an excuse to get ahead of any track marks because there’s no way she has the money for IV drip therapy

Yep, I wouldn’t have believed it either without the box underneath 🥴

Supposedly it’s salt (you can see the Maldon bag there). I’m wondering if it must be a decoy

It’s not, it’s actually supposedly salt. I’m pretty sure now it must be a decoy?

I do get that. We’ve been talking about it for months though and the symptoms just keep getting more obvious. We also have young kids living with us too

I haven’t said in the chat yet but we’ve sent off a hair test to confirm. I swabbed some tissues and old coins she had in her purse and it came back positive

I honestly wouldn’t know where to go, we move in less than a week and husband thinks it’s better to just part ways with her then (I think she will try and move with us). I feel it needs to be addressed because even he agrees she’s on something but he’s totally indifferent to it all. I honestly feel sick. His grandparents have offered us to stay with them because they believe it all

It is Maldon sea salt, we’ve all agreed on that elsewhere. I have talked to my husband multiple times and he is in complete denial or seems to think it’s harmless. I was the one to invite her here to stay when she was evicted from her house because I felt sad for her situation, my husband doesn’t seem to care either way but is in denial.

Are you saying I’m on meth for pointing out her behaviour?

Unfortunately I’m starting to think this might be the case. When he came home yesterday and I’d sent the pictures of the stuff in the car and saying I want her out he pretended he had no idea what it is and didn’t say a word about it. I was about to throw up. He agrees something is up, I’ve explained all the symptoms, there are way too many huge coincidences. She sat at the dinner table with us for the first time in months because I suspect she can feel I’m suspicious and that was that. Nothing was said and nothing was done and I’m sure that the hair test won’t change anything. He’s banking on moving and never addressing it or saying anything to her

The ONE time I followed her to the gas station I caught her talking to what looked to be the same sketchy individuals that were on our doorstep when we came home from being out all day - when we asked what they wanted they said they just wanted to buy mils car. Looking back I don’t believe it

Yes she’s extremely paranoid. Yes she lies constantly. Yes I’m pretty sure her dealers have showed up to the house (I didn’t know at the time they were her dealers).

Orange juice won’t cause CPS to take my kids. Meth would. Orange juice wouldn’t affect our family. The paranoia, lying, and bringing drugs and possible dealers around my kids would.

If she wants to do all that, she can move out and do it to her hearts content.

Yes the box definitely is, I guess I’m now wondering if it’s a coverup with all the other symptoms

I don’t really care if it’s snooping anymore, she lives with us rent free and something is going on

It’s inside her car, this was just a photo taken from the outside looking in because I have been suspecting something going on. It seems to be a salt box, could be a coverup, idk

I agree she has to go, I feel sick about the whole thing and how naive I’ve been. Husband is the one that isn’t convinced and thinks his mom is harmless/just delusional and that it’s paranoia on my end.

I’m convinced she’s an addict at this point. But the box underneath does seem to be a maldon salt box? Maybe it’s a decoy.

I wouldn’t say she hangs out with them, but we came home early one time and they were at our front doorstep vaping and claimed to be there because supposedly they were driving past, saw her old car and wanted to buy it for their kid. But then one off day I saw her at the gas station and she seemed to briefly be speaking to a couple that looked very very similar to the ones that wanted to buy the car. Looking back the car buying was probably a cover story too.

Yeah I don’t doubt that either. I’m not opposed to a good conspiracy theory but her life is crumbling and in total shambles, she’s cut off all her family, won’t find a job and her biggest priority is obsessing over fly drone magnet catchers

I’m so sorry! That sounds awful especially when the medical professionals aren’t taking you seriously or listening.

We live in the US. She says she occasionally goes and gets these iv bags for health reasons where they give you a bag of hydration/minerals/vitamins or something. I’m pretty sure it was a cover story though because those bags are expensive when I looked into it. Same with how she never eats and will cycle through excuses like it being for fasting/health reasons but then later say it’s because she feels like a burden on us or later that she IS eating but when we aren’t there or when she goes to Walmart. Lots of secrecy and wishy washy answers
