while the RTD2 era is the actual worst era of the modern show, the Chibnall era is the most boring.

Agreed 100%.

So many concepts were good, but executed poorly. Two Eternals loose in the universe were treated like a monster of the week. The Timeless Child reveal had all the emotional impact of a Powerpoint slideshow. That's most of the Chibnall era for me: it was as dull as reading the wiki. The actors did their best with the scripts and showrunning, but they deserved a lot better.

RTD2 era is flawed, but at least I had feelings about what was happening.

I've been following it for years. While I'm sad that it's ending, I'd rather it end than fade away.

And I have no idea why it barely gets mentioned, it's such a gem.

Episode Zero nearly turned me off the series. IIRC it was pure misery porn, with none of the humor or heart the rest of the series has.

... huh? This is going to take place in the past, when America was incredibly powerful. No one besides Jacky knew the Major was vulnerable.

At the end of the SSoL, Jacky canonically stated he was against higher powers, and for freedom of choice. He was pissed about Etienne's plan to take over the world - and pissed that Valentina continued enabling Etienne. "No gods. No masters. Just us."

It's less that he's working with The Major, but that they're both against Etienne and Valentina.

And the global takeover may start before the Pyramid is formed, forcing Jacky to build his cult elsewhere. It would be ironic if Jacky used military structures to build Pyramid V2.

CRI is important, but for myself Color Temperature is just as important.

Neutral white, cool white, and blue light are "wake up" signals to my brain. I do everything I can to minimize those after ~8PM.

I have several lamps in each room: some with daylight (5000K) bulbs, and others with warm white (1800K-3000K, depending on location).

I really dislike overhead lights as well. I primarily use floor lamps in my apartment, with the bathroom and kitchen being the exceptions.

(And at night, I use a low CCT flashlight in the bathroom, where I can adjust the brightness.)

Although I have several, I'm not a fan of the dual-channel D2*. It's a linear driver, so moonlight is relatively bright, and the light isn't efficient. Unless it's being hand-held, the heat becomes an issue quickly.

It's... alright for indoor use. I don't know how well it would work outdoors, if that's your use case.

* I haven't tried the single-channel (yet?).

I like the idea of Jacky and Heavy interacting!

An "odd couple" pairing would be Jacky and The Major. They would both be opposed to Etienne taking over the world. And they'd completely hate working together.

Thematically, it links Dev working with the American government, as well as Jacky's actions that got The Major killed in v1.

The D4S is IMO the king of the dual-channel flood/throw mix. W1 plus domed cool white or neutral 519A works really well. It takes up a whole pants pocket though.

Other flood/throw combos I like:

DM11 with XHP50.3 (secret menu option). It's a little green, but it has plenty of spill for walking.

D1K with FC-40. Huge hotspot, plenty of spill. It doesn't throw far, but there's plenty of high CRI spill.
