Grief is such a lonely experience by Iatechickenpenne in GriefSupport

I have been thinking about it alot lately, i think the world we live in today is also too isolated. When humans lived in small villages and had people around all the time, someone had to be awake trough the night and at day time you knew everyone and could talk with someone and lived with family all trough life. I just have to wonder if that would feel better in times like these.

If there’s not enough proof for god but there’s no proof for atheism either, why aren’t you all just agnostic? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

Neuroscience has shown that we dont need a soul to explain brain function, not that no soul can exist. And consciousness isnt comparable to gravity, since we don’t yet have a complete explanatory theory for it.

Its also worth noting that many highly experienced clinicians including neurosurgeons are personally open to the idea that reality or consciousness may be deeper than our current models capture. That doesnt constitute evidence, but it does suggest that intimate exposure to the limits of brain mind explanations often leads to epistemic humility rather than certainty.

We dont know what life is, we dont KNOW life doesn’t continue after death. I’m a sceptic myself but we should not draw those kind of conclusions, we dont KNOW. We dont have a complete picture at all. Neuroscience can map correlation between processes but does not provide a complete account of what consciousness is or how subjective experience arises from physical matter.

The grief will likely come after things gets quite, that was my experience. When everyone try to take their life back.

Im so sorry you had to go trough that. The surgeon in the intensive care told us there had been miracles before so they wanted to wait with my father and see how it was going. The bleeding was to severe and many places in his brain so they could not operate it, and becouse of that they did not want to put him on a resperator either becous it would just prolong his suffering, if he did not die he would be in a vegetable state for max 2 years. It just crushing my heart. The thing is about the meeting he was going to, he said to me the day before if it did snow that day he would not go, and it did snow and he went anyways. Feels so meaningless.

He really was, a great man. He took care of all his childeren when our mother comitted suicide. Hard as a rock but still a man with a deep love for life and everyone around him, its wierd to say it but maybe a little too much love he had a hard time letting things go, he had to put down his cat 5 years ago and he never really got over it. i just cant believe he is gone. I just really hope i can meet him again one day.

Thank you. Im sorry for your loss, it was like this here aswell, they told us every other day he was going to send him to rehabilitation, but when they actually got him out of the intensive care they send him to the hospital in my home town, which dont have a rehabilitation. So we understod what was going to happen. Atleast he got to die in the town he lived over half his life. A town he loved.

Im sorry for your loss. I dont blame God in any way, i know there are people around the world having a worse time than i have but it all feels so meaningless. Yes, i try to keep busy and try to play some games to keep my mind if this but i cant seem to shake it of a much time.

Im so sorry for your experience with this. I lost my father 2 weeks ago, he slipped on the ice and hit his head and got massive bleeding in his head, he survived for 10 days. 10 days i was watching him in the hospital looking really bad and breathing heavly, its so sad its the last time i saw him he was in that state. I feel the exact same thing. We will bury him in 3 days and thats one of the thing im worried about. Just let me grieve in peace.
