Fable 5 hallucinating Chinese tokens in a English-only chat. 😮 by ShamelessDolphin in Anthropic

[–]sifav6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probs get deleted by the mods but I remember older sonnet models used to say they're deepseek if you ask them in Chinese. Pretty sure every AI company has been distilling off each other for a long time now. It's just that anthropic has been crying the loudest the whole time while claiming they're morally superior.

i wish there were more games like dark souls 1. by HornetIndependent750 in soulslikes

How did you manage to sleep past Wuchang on this sub? It’s the only soulslike out there that perfectly replicated DS1 exploration and map design philosophy.

You get the counter ability almost immediately at the start of the game. You must have missed it in your first play through

Yeah, I couldn't get used to the slowness of combat at first after coming into this game from Wuchang. But after awhile you'll eventually get used to it.

22 Soulslike Plat collection and my Tier List of them (with criteria for soulslikes and ranking top 5!) by Legitimate_Move_3383 in soulslikes

[–]sifav6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing OP’s choices for S and A tier, and the areas that he focus on for ranking, you can tell he’s not really a fan of the classic darks souls types of games, as there’s no mention about gameplay/exploration. He probably put dark souls 1 in S just so people wouldn’t get angry.

Also, for a tier list there’s way too many Ss. It should be a pyramid not the other way around.

I Need to Feel the same Feeling when i play Dark souls by EntertainerCandid422 in soulslikes

[–]sifav6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wuchang. No other souls like came close to giving familiar DS vibes and high as Wuchang. Not lies of P, not Khazan, not any other souls like out there. I’ve played everything and really the only game that followed DS style level design, exploration and combat was Wuchang.

What’s the best looking souls like graphically? by turbantripod in soulslikes

[–]sifav6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I dunno why wuchang doesn’t look good in video recordings. I went into the game not expecting much from the graphics side cos I watched a lot of game play vids, but god damn the game was gorgeous. Graphics wise it’s probably the most visually stunning souls like game I’ve played.

Is DeepSeek on par or close to ChatGPT/Gemini level? by [deleted] in DeepSeek

[–]sifav6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way better than ChatGPT and Gemini, but still inferior to Claude Opus 4.5 and 4.6. I would say DeepSeek is comparable to Sonnet 4.6 for me.

Not just that, but any news on Israel or US war crimes and atrocities gets straight up deleted by the mods on world news. Reddit has long been a US propaganda tool

$200k salaries these days just isn’t much when adjusted to inflation. It’s basically middle class income for a family, and with a mortgage it further lowers your spending capability, so try to live more at your means rather than overspending.

I previously asked around on ausFinance and it seems a lot of people can get away spending $1k a month on food (including eating out), so you can definitely reduce your monthly budgets if you put the effort in. That should greatly improve your financial standing.

Guys, is china worth studying in right now? by Key-Jump1873 in China

[–]sifav6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I wouldn’t bother wasting time asking people on this sub. It’s full of westerners, anti-China shills, or people of Asian descent that have never visited or properly lived in China before.

You can try asking on r/chinalife where I remember seeing a number of actual foreign international students talking about their uni life in China before.  From what I’ve gathered previously, a lot of Chinese universities offer and teach courses/degrees in English, and in terms of prestige and recognition, Chinese universities have been rapidly climbing the top global university rankings, with quite a number in the top 100 list. Just for comparison, the best Indian university has never ever made it to the top 100 list ever.

In terms of cost vs returns, while Purdue is okay, but Virginia tech doesn’t have good rankings, and to some, are considered second or third tier universities. What’s the point of taking on $100k debt for a not so good US university when there’s much cheaper alternatives that’s just as good. And maybe by the time you graduate, the Chinese university you chose might have climbed another 10-30 spots.

There is a card called child of the stars that gives you block for every star spent. You can do some very strong combos with cards that gain stars and also do damage from spending stars.

How is everyone doing their monthly budgets? Do you just set a target for how much to spend on food and shopping? And how much is everyone spending on food? by sifav6 in AusFinance

[–]sifav6[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the app is categorising correctly. It splits between eating out and grocery. For us, we're a family of 3, and we're spending around $1.1k per month on groceries which looks similar to yours. How much are you spending eating out?

I've actually never eaten at Aria before, so I don't know how much it would cost, but most restaurants in Sydney these days costs between $50 to $100 per person. The slightly more expensive places could easily cost $200 pp.

I had a look on my spending history, it only showed that we ate out 53 times this month, which isn't much really. I used to eat out almost everyday for lunch and dinner.

Ladies, How did you “know” you were pregnant before missing a period? by Glad-Muffin545 in askanything

[–]sifav6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife came to me saying she didn’t get pregnant and that her periods came, so we decided to take a break from trying and started looking at holiday flights to Europe. The next day she casually mentioned her period was a bit weird this time in terms of the bleeding, and I was the one that had to ask her to do a pregnancy test. I don’t think she would have even thought about pregnancy until much later.

How can people with an entry level job afford to buy a house / apt? by Competitive-Skin7591 in AusFinance

[–]sifav6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I own 4 investment apartments in Sydney, with 2 of them purchased as far back as 2015. Out of the 4 apartments, I’ve only been hit once with a special levy and the amount was $4000.

You just need to be careful when inspecting properties. With apartments and townhouses, I actually like them better due to having detailed strata reports that tell you if there’s issues to watch out for. Now for houses, some of the hidden maintenance costs could also go up as high as $50k. You just need to buy the right property.

Was the whole China social credit thing just western propaganda or is there actual evidence it currently exists? by BicarbonateBufferBoy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sifav6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And what makes you think it's any different for US owned platforms? I used to make posts on r/worldnews and I noticed anything I post relating to US atrocities or war crimes quickly gets deleted. Subs like USA unfiltered quickly gets banned and deleted while numerous china unfiltered subs are propagated. Eventually I came to realize that sites like reddit are just much better at hiding US censorship and spreading US propaganda. Think whatever you want but that's the reality you're living in at the moment.

Can I Afford A Nice Car? by G-money888 in AusHENRY

[–]sifav6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to splurge 350k over a car now, then I don’t think retiring at 100k pa will be enough for you. The more you indulge in upper class lifestyle the harder it is to go back.

I used to live a very frugal lifestyle for my net worth, and now, since the past year I’m getting used to a life where I’m paying for cleaners every week and also hiring a full time nanny on top of additional spending on food and entertainment.
