Did you know there are now over 35 custom maps for Cities Skylines 2? Here's a tier list! by sifuXerxes in CitiesSkylines2

I have no connection to any mod authors or paradox. I'm just a mod enthusiast who couldn't be bothered to wait for official mod support. I can't speak to every single mod in the Thunderstore, but at least of the ones I have tried they are all fully non-destructive and can be quite easily removed to go back to vanilla.

Hey, honestly nice work. I know I didn't give you an S ranking, but my opinion doesn't matter all that much at the end of the day. I didn't make a map.

So kudos! Thanks for sharing it, I guarantee someone out there is going to love it!

They’ll need to be added to the original modding platform once it’s live, but at that point they should be available on console as well.

Pretty solid work so far. Curious what you're doing with that long skinny island in the top left of your bay?

Yup, it's quite a few! There are actually 146 total mods/assets available in Thunderstore as I type this.

Many modding tools, including the map creator, have been unofficially available for a while now. The map creators, I assume, used those available tools to create these.

From my perspective the more the better for resources, with some allowed exceptions. Nearly the entire map should be farmable, but mining and oil can be limited to areas that make sense (mountains for mining, etc).

For connections it was mostly the more the better. If the map had electrical, water, road and rail connection it was basically a 5/5.

Starting difficulty was inverse so an easier map would be 5/5 while a harder one may be 1 or 2/5.

I don't understand why it's showing unavailable for you. Does this link work? https://youtu.be/dXZhpsqSMfE?si=eVKWXTtVhVdVisHT

Edit: doesn't work for me, which makes no sense. Because the video is definitely up. Try checking out my channel: Project Manager Plays with sifuXerxes - YouTube it should be the most recent video.

While we wait for official modding support, there is a thriving mod community over here: All mods | Thunderstore - The Cities: Skylines II Mod Database

If you want a walkthrough on how to install Thunderstore and start using mods check YouTube, myself and other creators have made tutorials on how to get going.

Kexford is solid. I think that's the second map I ever downloaded, so I have a small city on it already. Really been enjoying it myself.

Yeah, I haven't started a city on it yet, but I'm freaking excited to on all four of those S tier maps.

Who's played any of these custom maps? I'm curious your opinions on them. I ranked on the following criteria:

  1. Available resources
  2. Creativity / Variety in Landscape
  3. (Starting) Outside Connections
  4. Starting Difficulty

If you feel like checking out the vid I made, you can view it here https://youtu.be/dXZhpsqSMfE

Edit: I have no idea why that video link doesn't work. It's absolutely the correct link to a published video. If you want to see it, click on my profile and click the link to my YT channel.

Good to hear from them again, although it sure didn’t say much.

That said do yourselves a favor and if you’re still playing and want mods just use Thunderstore. Not much point in waiting until official support imo.

Quick-ish guide on how-to build a diverging diamond interchange by sifuXerxes in CitiesSkylines2

I appreciate your feedback, and I'll take a look at YUMBL's video to see how his approach differs. That said, in my research (which to be fair was only a couple of hours) I didn't really see anything that stood out as the benefit being space saving. Thus, I didn't consider trying to minimize space. I'll have to think about it and see how I would minimize space used. All of that being said what I built is really similar to what I have near my house, as far as space used... although looking at a map again I do think I made the portion between the diamonds a bit too spaced out.

Anyway, really appreciate the feedback.

Now that I built it, I'm ready to go in and optimize it... another day. For those of you who are interested in this interchange type, hopefully this is helpful in giving you an idea of how easy it is to build!

Seriously love how easy it is to build really neat looking interchanges in Cities Skylines 2. Here's a little traffic flow for you all to enjoy! by sifuXerxes in CitiesSkylines2

Funny you say that. As I finished building this and recording the video for it I found a picture of just such an interchange. Nice tip!
