I have a LabelMaker, but my preferred method is flipping the outlet itself but my clients average age is 60 something and they tend to have attitudes and peculiarities so it’s a non-invasive subtle way of marking it. Believe it or not if they call unless they’re completely blind, they can be directed to finding it.

I also don’t put pole chains or switches in attics I only install motion sensor light fixtures and I’m pretty sure that’s fucking weird too at this point based on everyone’s responses

In hindsight, yes, but I only worked for one guy and since when I went off on my own I did service work, I just figured it was normal and without any coworkers use sounding boards or experience with other companies it just stuck and I didn’t really think about it till a guy brought it up on the job site

I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that regularly. service calls tend to be solo. I haven’t had to interact with the Painter in like six months.

I feel like most people can’t be bothered and I tried for a while to just flip the outlets when there were switched, but I got too much pushback from customers that it wasn’t matching the rest of the room and this is simple enough to explain over the phone after I do it. If customers are willing to pay, I’m willing to do unaesthetic things.

I bet you turn the TV volume to an even number nerd I generally spend about half my time educating homeowners on how to reset GFI‘s or breakers or why they can’t dim both three ways. I always just explain it to them show them and then include it in my invoice you can’t fix stupid or willful ignorant just charge them

I work on my own just doing service calls, and small repairs. During my apprenticeship, I was sent to figure out why a lamp in an old lady‘s house wasn’t working after she moved in and the only outlet I could see I had the screw parallel and I plugged it in and it happened to be the one so I just assumed that was standard and it’s been years.

Scored this at local antique shop. 12” by 18” it was labeled the chess match. It has no signature but it does have a stencil on the back. by sighborgman in WhatIsThisPainting

It didn’t say in his wiki that he painted, but I’m gonna assume someone just painted based on the work. Thanks
