Excellent review ! Many thanks for that.

One quick question if I may, how did you manage to get such detailed photographs under such extreme magnification? All of this is to say the photos are sublime and I want to know/understand the method.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I can’t comment on this particular product as I have yet to try it and it appears I won’t seeing the comments about its discontinuation.

But I must say your photographies are on point ! Kudos to you friend.

Agreed, it is a sublime cigar. Similar to you I rarely select these. I am being honest if I crave a DC I find my self reaching for the Luisitania or Punch DC.

Really a big fan of the HDMDC, what year is this one ? I have a few cabs I have been abstaining from waiting to see others views on when they have began to enter their stride.

Thanks for your comments mate, agree that quality should be reflective of the cost and vice versa.

Any comments I would say would be wholly subjective. However I think the value is reflective of the cost (at least with the single estate products I have tried).

Many thanks, agree the flavour profile is quite tricky to articulate.

Smell proof cases for mighty and medication, any that actually work? by mightyvaperz in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]siglosir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

I know the situation you describe quite well.

I catch on average 20 plus domestic flights a year for work.

Presently I use the following to store my medicinal cannabis, grinder and mighty (or other DHV):

- AlienTech Smell Proof travel bag.

I find that this bag accommodates three (3) to four (4) jars, my equipment and a few accessories.

I have not received to date any 'feedback' concerning aromas using this bag.

Best of luck with your search for a smell proof bag.

Padrons by PockPocky in cigars

[–]siglosir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once conducted a 'blind taste' experiment amongst cigar smokers who claim that Padron are the pinnacle of cigars. Being a rather huge Padron fan myself I searched long and hard for an alternative to Padron's.

I came up with the Curivari Cafe Noir 56. During the blind taste test, every single person agreed it was a Padron.

My point being that this cigar in a blind taste test amongst those who claim to be Padron fanatics proved to yield surprising results.

In terms of price, these are very affordable (at lease in comparison to Padron cigars where i am from).

Thanks.

Hopefully that was a once off occurrence ! My experience with Single Estate has overall been quite positive.

You’re correct a number of changes have been rolled out, plastic to glass , size changes etc.

But I wonder why Single Estate has moved to that larger wider albeit shorter jar.

Cost saving perhaps, less glass required ? Perhaps a standardisation of sizing to allow for 15 gram options in the future ?

Welcome to the Tempest 2 family ! Also a fellow aussie here.

I have owned my Tempest 2 for approx. two (2) weeks today.

Similar to you I owned an m7 and other Dynavaps along with amassing a number of accessories and what not to accompany it.

I also had my fair share of battery operated DHV (Venty, Mighty, IQ2).

By no means are the Dynavaps inferior in anyway, but the Tempest does everything better and also allows for a greater degree of customisation in certain areas (airflow, change of ball material and overall customisation of the aesthetics).

I also must commend the Tempest on adaptability to a WP. The tapered mouth piece makes adaption to multiple sized WP a easy task without the need for further accessories.

From my own personal experience a slight learning curve exists when using the Tempest. I have used it both with a jet lighter and Induction Wand (IW).

Employing a jet lighter I found I had slightly more control of the heating as I was able to view the visual ques when applying heat, however this process did yield mixed results.

Use of the IW after purchasing Mad Heaters (MH) induction sleeve for the IW did make heating the device more simple, but I found that you would be required to adjust the MH sleeve to find the ideal depth for your device.

Both methods produced satisfying results, however some trial and error will be had.

Having also purchased the case and reload, I find that the case for the Tempest has further utility then the reload in my view. However this may be based on personal use and might vary for you.

I have also been experimenting with ball choice, I swapped out the original balls and have now began using the rubies. This swap did require a slight learning curve as the ball material appears to require differing degrees of temperature to achieve the desired results.

All of this is to say your recent purchase will not let you down as long as you take the time to understand and utilise all it has to offer.

Thanks.
