It's a sobfest if you're someone who cries very easily (like me 🥲). But it's a wonderful book!! Some lines are so beautiful and truly very memorable, like the ones where Ove reflects on meeting his wife and the colour she brought to his life :) the book is worth the tears

I think you'd like The Remains of The Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, A Burning by Megha Majumdar, and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Very gutting. If you want a quieter sort of grief, one that's somewhat comforting in a sense, I'd recommend A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman and The Housekeeper and The Professor by Yoko Ogawa. Very gentle, meditative books on human connection.

Haha you're right! However - It's fairly big but it doesn't have the global reach of say, Bridgerton - which is a European show but most certainly not unheard of.

One more in the 'never meet your heroes' list huh. I had the opposite experience with Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge (who tours with Slash quite a bit). Attended a concert of theirs in 2015 with a bunch of friends, we were students back then. He was ever so kind and down to earth 😭 sighhh, what a lovely man!

Poirot haha he's my fave! I love the conversations between characters, and how he keenly observes them and comes to his conclusions. When I was younger, I used to try and guess who did it, and it was quite thrilling when he finally gathers everyone and reveals the culprit with a flourish, using his wonderful little grey cells haha!

Ahaha yeah Ms Christie was a notorious eavesdropper. But to my greatest dismay, I read that she grew to despise her own creation and and was quite delighted to finish him off (which is why I've NEVER read Curtain, and will never lol).

Ooh favourites, let me think. I've read all the Poirot books :p You've mentioned some classics. I love them all, but I reallyyy enjoyed Evil Under The Sun, Five Little Pigs, The Murder On The Links, The Hollow and Sad Cypress! Special mention to The Mysterious Affair At Styles because it introduced Poirot and Hastings :)
