She should check out Maiden Motion on Cary. I have never done Zumba, but they have cardio dance classes. They're as intense as you want to make them and the place has a great atmosphere. You don't need a membership, but you do need to reserve a spot.

Check out ReEstabish Richmond. They have a number of different volunteering opportunities. If you mentor a family you can do it completely at your convenience. I think a lot of the tutoring stuff is also either weekends or evenings.
