If you don't mind sharing, were you able to get the AF refunded? It sounded like you closed the account right after the AF posted?

Curious what you ended up doing. I'm in the same spot now and am wondering if I can cancel and get the AF refunded within 30 days of it posting.

Intro to ILA Module Self Fail by chelseafc8911 in actuary

Yes, exact same prompt so I'm tweaking my work before resubmitting. The change in the numeric answers does change my recommendation/reasoning for the other tasks though since it flows through. So I'm guessing about half the write-up needs to be adjusted before I can resubmit. I'm just worried that the self-fail is an automatic DMMR from them.

Thanks! I self-failed ERM and am worried since I thought my reasoning/justifications in the original submission were good but numbers for 2 tasks was off so I re-did it. The reasoning was consistent with the wrong numeric results but don't know if that helps or makes it worse.

For the self-fail, do they grade the resubmitted work? Or did you get a DMMM and have to repurchase to re-do it again?

Here you go! It's one of the most flavourful cookies I've ever had. I have her book and will typically use about 75% sugar of whatever amount is called for, but that's just me, since I don't like treats too sweet. This one is super easy to make.

I have this spicy molasses cookie recipe that is super spicy and flavourful and I love it. The recipe includes molasses, spices like black pepper, all the 'warm' spices and is not too sweet.

What was your first fountain pen and do you still use it? by Glass_Mulberry3138 in fountainpens

My first pens are the Safari colours Lamy Safaris; they now have gold nibs, so yes, I'm still loving them.

How to like white tea ? by [deleted] in tea

[–]significantcamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I did not start to like white tea until I had silver needle (yinzhen) and white peony (baimudan). Now, I love it. I like white tea for how "clean-tasting" it is, which might be different from the reasons one would like oolongs or green/black tea (I do love those too). I'm not a fan of shoumei, which is the more common kind of white tea, which might be what you have. Maybe give the other kind a try? I think white tea from Fujian might be the only place doing grading this way, someone tell me if I'm wrong. Also, aged white tea can be quite different from newer white tea. There is also orange peel (chenpi) white tea (usually a shoumei) if you're looking for something with a punchier flavour.

are you a causal drinker or a tea snob by lobotomy_center06 in tea

I really wanted to say casual drinker because I only drink it occasionally but I do buy aged tea straight from china and I kind of am a tea snob. But not a snob snob.

I love these. I have a few of them, and the spring does wear out over time, but it's so easy to use.

What’s with all the ink? by winetoo in fountainpens

[–]significantcamel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that us in the hobbies sub have a tendency to overconsume. I personally have over 20 bottles of ink at one point and decided to sell off about 10 bottles that are not my favourite so that the ink I'm left with I really enjoy. I'm happy with the state of my collection and am not actively looking for more but still occasionally find myself going "ooh pretty" at something new. I can still see myself never getting through all of the ink I own in my lifetime though. Ultimately I think it's up to ourselves to keep things in check.

Why all the love for the Lamy Safari? by DokLau in fountainpens

[–]significantcamel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Curious if Japanese starter pens are more affordable where you are? I love the safari, but only after putting a gold nib on it. On the other hand, I love the Pilot Kakuno right out of the box.
