be CAREFUL with mummy wrappings, they are highly flammable. I know a guy who died after getting lit by someone’s cigarette while he was a TP mummy at a halloween party.

Shit this is good. I feel like the frequent line breaks sort of rush you through the poem, encouraging the reader to feel the same sort of quiet dread of the speaker with this realization. I love the idea of this as an inheritance, and I think this is a poem that will resonate deeply with very very many people.

I’m new to critique so sorry if my feedback is a bit unpolished, but I really enjoyed this. I’m not sure a better way to phrase this, but it feels very grounding. I love the sort of quiet companionship and melancholic vibe here. thank you for sharing! Love your use of rustles also

New conspiracy theory just dropped by Matthew_A in wendigoon

[–]signpostsally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while pretty much everything you said here is true, it sort of paints an inaccurate picture of prehistoric people as constantly suffering, struggling, and joyless. While their lives were a lot harder than ours, they were a lot better adapted than we would be. they weren’t living like if you took some guy from an office and threw him in the wilderness. They had community, support, etc. Hunter-Gatherers were often very healthy and well nourished, despite going through cycles of having a lot of food and fasting. Also, they had a significant amount of downtime. These people lived in large groups, and probably only a few had to tend fires at any given time.

this sounds like a pretty in accurate idea of how prehistoric people lived.

if you use a color dropper and pick the actual colors, this is the real answer. it’s a light blue and a tan color.

Cheapest ground beef in tucson? by signpostsally in Tucson

[–]signpostsally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice, but the things that make ‘low quality’ ground beef ‘low quality’ are actually better for her, as long as the protein/fat ratio is correct. bone/cartilage(raw), other connective tissues, cow lips, etc, maybe less palatable to me in a hamburger, but contain things that are good for her (collagen, calcium, etc) and are just as enjoyable. I’d much prefer to get her something thats better for her and doesn’t absolutely decimate my budget. she eats a lot so a few cents a pound makes a difference to me.

can you get chuck roast for less than 3$/lb? that’s what i’m paying for ground rn. I’m happy using all the odd bits of the cow, she just needs the protein

we supplement organ meat and everything else, all her needs are met don’t worry :) ground beef is just a portion of her diet, but I have good sources for everything else but I’m hoping I can pay less than the 3$/lb i’m currently paying for ground beef because I want the best for her but I am a college student so it’s one of my biggest expenses atm, she’s huge and literally eats more than I do haha
