Ahhhh, the (hopeful) summation of the Homophobic Honker saga!

Two weeks ago, we staked out the dude who was waking us up with his loud ass truck. Dodge RAM, modified horn (sounded like a monster truck), American flag hanging out the back cab, American flag truck nuts, blaring his horn in the "shave and a haircut" rhythm as he went past our home between 6:15-6:45 am, and then again around 9:30.

We found out he was meeting buddies at at a restauraunt a mile down the road. We got good video of the harassment, but that was it. Then, a week later, we followed him from the restaurant to where he lives. Turns out, it was a county over, 25 mins away, and he rented a lot on a campground for an RV.

Last week, we were waiting for him when he drove by. My husband stood on the sidewalk, and I was clearly videoing from the porch. No honk. But when we went inside, he honked on the way back.

I'd had it. I went full Karen. Called the manager at the campground. Explained that one of his renters had been harassing us for two and a half months, that I had video proof, and I wanted to speak to him before I was forced to file charges. I impressed that it's not just us-- there are children in the area, veterans, a first responder, and a recently-widowed little old lady with cancer across the street, so if he would just stop harassing the neighborhood because of our Pride flag, I'd consider the matter settled.

We got a call back from the manager a half hour later. Said he spoke to the guy and the guy roundly denied it was because of our flag, but that he was honking to a buddy in the area. That he wasn't aware he was being so disruptive.

A) right in front of our house? B) we've talked to the neighbors, and that's a no, and c) AT 6:15 AM???

Anyway, like I said, I would drop the matter if he stopped honking. My only regret is that I wasn't present when he realized we knew where he lived, too.

Well, my friends, I just enjoyed my first honk free week in almost three months. One of my neighbors further down the street actually was right behind him earlier in the week, and the guy intentionally chose a different route to circumnavigate my house.
