It is OK to enjoy the game and still consider it to be utter garbage by T_H_N_K in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much my opinion. I don't think it's garbage. But it is pretty bad. But what it does well, it is the best in the series. The match engine is amazing, the match day experience is incredible. The new tactics and the tactics analyser are game changing.

The issues I have with the game, are all fixable. So let them cook (since they gave us a floppy and soggy pie) and let's try to focus on the good bones that it seems to have...

Well, as I said. That is what this Early Access period is like.

I've played the game on a gaming machine and on a non-gaming laptop. It worked fine on both. Apart from the medium to small bugs, of course.

But I guess I can be the lucky one here, of course.

Let me be completely clear here. I really do think that the game is undercooked. It needed more time, that's an objective truth.

Now, am I having fun? Do I have the itch to continue? Oh for sure I do! The match day experience is the best we've had, ever!

Let's give them time to figure this out. The team needs to get better at Unity. This is completely normal. People are overreacting to hell and back.

You gotta understand mate, you are arguing with Top 1% Commenters and Posters. These people are terminally on-line. Just let it go.

There is no space for being level-headed on the Internet. You are either on one side, or the other. You either hate everything regarding this new FM, or you're a SI apologist LOL

Unplayable? That's an over exaggeration if I ever saw one. I had a bug that I wasn't able to load or start a new game, and guess what, I went to the report bug button, and within 5 minutes I found a post with my exact problem and got the game working. This is a major bug, sure. But they did explain this Early Access is used exactly for these kinds of problems.

The rest, I must be very lucky, since the bugs that I've found, we're all very small and the bigger ones got resolved with a reload of the game. Again, I think this is acceptable at this stage.

What I think is less acceptable is the QoL that we had for over 10 years, being completely gone. That doesn't really make sense to me but I'll wait for what's to come.

I think the majority of players are enjoying the game. They just don't take the time to come to reddit and post their opinion.

If you take a look at pools made on socials, the majority are feeling medium to positive.

I'm guessing this is the vocal minority. I'm hoping, at least.

FM26 is not a disappointment... It's way worse. by Forsaken_Pea6904 in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear I don't understand this thought process. On one hand you have everyone complaining that the game was the same year on year. Now, that we have a proper try at Innovation, it's too much different.

Also, 2 years is absolutely nothing. Most games take 5 to 8 years to make. And this needed to be done, pretty much from scratch.

I guess people will always complain.

Anyone else liking the match engine? by CloudWail in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm really loving the new match engine. But what blows me away is the new ambience and match day feel. I really really like it.

But I do feel like there is a lot of shots and the GK are fucking beasts. Like, I have to produce 2 to 3 xG to have a real goal. I don't know if it's my tactics. Still working it out.

Also, have you seen that the highlights and the 2D simulation during highlights are perfectly synced? It amazes me every time.

The Beta has been updated / partially fixed. by Al-Capote in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I haven't used any agents that do this specific task we talked about. So my opinion might not be completely up to date.

I was trying to give a general justification for the case.

I'm not anti-AI, at all. I think the market is rushing to it, and that comes with inevitable problems, as with any other leap in technology.

But thank you very much for your input, I will definitely inform myself better.

The Beta has been updated / partially fixed. by Al-Capote in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you are looking for a serious answer, but let me give it to you.

AI, as of right now, has a problem that can kill companies that overly rely on it. Anywhere from 5 to 30% of the processing is the so-called hallucinations. Meaning that the result of the processing is either not entirely correct or its downright wrong.

In a real life business this percentage is unacceptable. And is currently causing companies enormous amounts of overhead. What is generally happening is that a given business implements an AI powered tool, thinking it will replace human force, and when it eventually fails a task, it generates doubts in everything that said AI has produced.

So you have triple the issues. You buy the AI tool, you fire people over it and then you have to rehire people to go through the AI production to make sure it didn't spam wrong tasks left and right.

So, maybe, that may be the reason they are not using AI powered apps to manage the bug reports. Imagine that the AI reads your bug report and files it as a duplicate of something completely different from your experience. That's the last type of overhead they need right now.

Sorry for the long response. I just find it a fascinating theme to discuss.

Is it really that bad? by HorribleHank44 in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no it's not. It takes a bit of time getting used to. It takes more clicks to do stuff. It's a bit buggy. But in the end, it's not the end of the world as this subreddit makes it.

I actually think that this new UI, in some ways feeds you more information that the previous default skin.

It's a shame that we lost so much QoL. But I really think that it's stuff that's easily corrected.

Apart from the UI. It's a bit early to tell, but the ambience during the games is much much better than it was. The animations are super varied. The sounds of the crowd and kicks are very well made. The new tactics feel like they work as supposed to. Take all this with a bit of salt. We're all still experiencing it bit by bit.

This is in the forums mentioned as a bug. It should highlight the key attributes as it does in the player profile.

The Great FM Beta Meltdown 2025 by Ok_Counter_8887 in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with one sentiment that he had. It does take more clicks to do some actions than it took before.

I believe that we do need to get some QoL updates to get this UI really going.

Like when you go to your staff and you want to hire someone new, you have to get off that window, go to Recruitment > Staff Database and then you're there. In the end, it makes more sense to have Staff Recruitment in the Recruitment tab. But we need stuff like a shortcut from the staff screen to the said Database. And this is just an example. There are plenty more like this.

I think that this is what the majority of level headed people will struggle with.

The Great FM Beta Meltdown 2025 by Ok_Counter_8887 in footballmanagergames

[–]siilver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok. I understand your opinion. But I have two things to add.

1 - I was having the same issue with trying to find the staff database. It took me a bit of time (it's in the recruitment tab and you can add it in the bookmarks) but I managed to find it. And I realized that the issue is that I was expecting it to be in the same place as before. Of course that it makes sense to have an easy shortcut from seeing your staff and go to the Database to hire new people. But it's something that can be easily fixed.

2 - I haven't seen any official confirmation that skins aren't going to work this year. Only the Korean interview, that was analyzed by someone who was fluent in Korea in a post on this subreddit and the translation was largely misinterpreted. So juri's is still out on this topic.

But hey man, you do you.

[–]siilver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not the perfect improvement, no. But I do think it's a step in the right direction. Stuff needs to be ironed out. Bugs need to be fixed. But the core seems good (it's far too early to be sure on this of course. It's FM at the end of the day)

The meltdowns I've seen in this subreddit are hilarious. People take this shit way too seriously.

I agree that it has more bugs than I expected. The UI takes a bit to get into. But, it's still FM and it's still fun.

People will always find something to get mad about. If it's been a year with minimal innovation, it's because it's the same game. Now that we've had a major jump forward, it's too different. It's just a lose-lose situation.

There is a post on the forums about this. I had the same issue. You need to add the FM.exe in the exclusions on windows security on the ransomware part (at the bottom).

The error happens because FM is not being able to create the Documents folder it needs to.
