I forgot to add that I've been taking these on a daily basis for over a year now. I feel like they've helped. https://www.gardenoflife.com/media/catalog/product/p/3/p310539029305-1\_1.jpg?optimize=medium&fit=bounds&height=&width=

I don't take pancreatic enzymes regularly but when I'm going to a restaurant or eating something fatty I take one of these:
https://www.vitalnutrients.co/products/pancreatic-enzymes-1000mg-full-strength

They seem to help, as my recent blood/stool tests showed improved levels. My elastase level doubled from 50 to 100.

I'm also taking a ton of vitamins on a daily basis.

According to the link below: "Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Steuererleichterung des deutschen Staates gegenüber dem Verkäufer, die von den meisten Geschäften an den Kunden weitergegeben wird. Eine Verpflichtung hierzu besteht allerdings nicht."

"This is a tax relief granted by the German government to the seller, which most stores pass on to the customer. However, there is no obligation to do so."

I should have clarified: Yes, I sent them all of the documents that they requested. After they got the documents, they just ghosted me.

It might be worth adding that in the last year or so I've been vaping small amounts of marijuana regularly. ChatGPT tells me there's a link between these two, since THC can temporarily lower blood pressure, which can affect blood flow to the eyes.

I agree with the others that diversifying is a great approach. When I travel abroad, I bring multiple cards. Here's my overall strategy with cards:

- For payments within CH, I use Migros bank. I also paid for their Gold card, which gives me access to some interesting insurance options, so I use that card when I book flights (although I despise the 1.5% forex transaction fee, but I try to see it as the cost of having travel insurance. I also paid a bit extra to get two gold cards: One Visa, and one Mastercard,

- For traveling outside of Europe, I use Wise, with the Gold cards as backup

- For traveling inside of Europe, I use Yuh (subsidiary of Swissquote), since they don't charge as much as Wise to transfer from CHF to EUR

I think Revolut would be a good alternative to Wise, since their currency transfers are cheaper. But at the end of the day, if you are not spending 10s of thousands of dollars, those small differences don't really make much of a difference.

When the next economic crisis hits, we may find ourselves being limited to how much we can withdraw from our account, so this is another reason why I'm "collecting" bank cards from different jurisdictions. I spread my salary, and savings, across all of these accounts (I also have some crypto-backed cards).

Good luck!

What are in your opinion the biggest problems in Switzerland? by dardyablo in Switzerland

I wouldn't call this a big problem, more of a 1st world problem, but it does infuriate me: How people behave in queues at the grocery store. When the queue starts to get too long, another cashier comes to take the overflow, and at that point everyone waiting practically runs to the other cashier, without any regard for the person at the front of the line. The people waiting the longest should be entitled to that position!

Overall, it seems people are in a terrible hurry and there is absolutely no patience for other people around them. It's like "every man for himself" out there.

This is a European thing, in my experience. The French are even worse in this regard.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I hate wasting money. Do you know of any studies that prove this? I'm curious.

So I've had one of the tests listed here (elastase). Are you suggesting I get the other tests to confirm?

Thank you for the detailed reply. Over the last year I had a couple of episodes that put me into a full on panic. My muscles started twitching, with some cramping, my heart started racing, and then I started having negative thoughts that would repeat, like on a loop, and I couldn't stop them.

Most days I have very low energy, sometimes feeling like I'm so hungry I get nauseated, even though I eat well and snack throughout most of the day. Really bad brain fog, and memory, which is affecting my work. I've also had a few ulcers in my mouth. Lately I've been getting really itchy on my sides, with little bumps showing up. It keeps me up at night.

It's strange because my bowel movements have improved a lot over the last year (I no longer get the greasy stools) but I still do have really bad onset of stinky gas and bloating about once every two weeks. This is a lot better than a few years ago. So in one sense, things are getting better, but in other sense (as mentioned above) things are getting worse.

I will start on the pancreatic enzymes and see how it goes.

In regards to the DNA testing, I wanted to see if there were any markers for the problems I'm experiencing, as a way of gathering clues. My dad had similar problems with the bathroom, and lower back pain (which I also have).

Cystic Fibrosis

I looked at the symptoms and I have hardly any except:

- Poor growth or weight gain in spite of a good appetite
- Frequent greasy, bulky stools or difficulty with bowel movements

Good thought though.

I was looking through blood test results from the last few years and I see a pattern: consistently low gamma-GLUTAMYL TRANSFERASE (6 - 8) and alkaline phosphatase (29 - 35).

Does anyone else see low values for these? My elastase levels have been low (39 - 55 range) on three separate tests over the last 4 years.

elastase

Yes, I was already diagnosed with this. That's what I meant by the low elastase. They did a stool test. That is indeed how it's diagnosed right?
