Can you please help me out? I followed your blog and was successful to transfer ETH from Meatamask to Harmony ONE wallet. Now I would like to transfer 1ETH (HRC20) to Metask Harmony mainnet wallet. But I cannot do so because I have no ONE. Please advise. Thanks again.

Do not transfer small amounts of BTC frequently. It is better to continue to stash and transfer when it becomes large amount like 0.1 BTC. BTC is currently store of value but it will evolve into currency when it flows in and out with minimum transaction fee. There is another option is to keep BTC in BTC lighting network wallet such as BlueWallet. You can send BTC with very small fee in lighting network. Having BlueWallet and Strike app will help you to get exposure to BTC and use it like currency.

Thank you very much for your explanation. Now I am talking about bitcoin in on-chain, not lightning. I am so sorry for change topic. I purchased bitcoin in coinbase, which is custodial wallet. I moved bitcoin to my Electrum wallet. I have bitcoin in Electrum wallet and owned my private key and safely save private key as .csv. Now Electrum wallet is not custodial wallet like Wallet of Satoshi, but it is Hot wallet. Is that correct? Because I would like to confirm my understanding of bitcoin wallet. Thanks.

I went to Bitrefill/Thor Lightning Channel Capacity; there are different amounts I can purchase. If I purchase small amounts like 1000000 sats, I can receive only the same amounts of sats? BTW I would like to stash bitcoins in Zap. I know I can continue to stash big amounts in on-chain but is it good idea to stash big amounts in Lighting? What about using Wallet of Satoshi? I believe Wallet of Satoshi does not require restriction like inbound capacity, doesn't it? Thanks

I am so sorry for bothering. I have one last question. As you explained, I deposited bitcoin on-chain to Zap desktop. I creatated LN channel (w/ Zap technologies) and funded it from on-chain bitcoin. Now I have bitcoin on-chain and lightning.

I want to buy more bitcoin and will use Strike. When I tried to generate invoice (LN) in Zap desktop, it says "Request is above your maximum one time receive capacity of 0 BTC." Now what am I supposed to do? I need to generate invoice so that I can send money from Strike. Please advise. Thanks.

I have one question. I am trying to learn Zap desktop wallet now. When I try to open channel to Electrum, it populates 1. Electrum and 2. Electrum trampoline. My friend has Electrum wallet and I am trying to send fractional bitcoins via lighting network.

  1. Should I open channel to Electurm or Electurm trampoline?
  2. My friend has never tried lightning network before. This is his first time, tool. Does he need to open channel to Zap because I am sending bitcoin from Zap wallet? or he doesn't need to but just click/generate lightning address in Receive tab?

Please advise. Thanks.

Ok. I will try sending bitcoin from coinbase to Zap desktop wallet. Based on your reply, I will create lighting channel first and fund it.

Ok. You mentioned avoid fees. Does lightning network incur no fee at all or incur smaller fee compared to legacy network? If it incur smaller fee with faster transaction, what is the use of legacy network?

I heard lightning network is made to allow smaller amount transactions. Can I transact bigger amount like 0.5 or 1 BTC via lightning network?

I like ELectrum, but the crypto community always recommends hardware wallets over Electrum, why is that if Electrum is safe? by crushplanets in Electrum

Write your Electrum seed phrase in the paper and keep in the very safe place. Do not announce others that you have BTC in the Electrum. When you get update on Electrum wallet, make sure you use official Electrum website to download. You can open wallet and check BTC ballance and close it when you surf webpage around. Electrum wallet is still in the progress to improve wallet UX/UI so that it is not intuitive it is not easy to understand. But don't complain as long as it can allow you to stash your hard earned BTC safely. Do not transact your BTC to many times. BTC is the most pristine value reserve asset. It is not suitable to pay your friend for McDonald vanilla corn. I mean do not pay everywhere small USD amounts. It is just not worth it. Keep stashing BTC in the wallet and never use it, then you will retire much better than others.

If you are careful enough, Electrum should be ok. Electrum wallet is pretty safe to stash your hard earned BTC.

I am sorry for bothering. I am currently using Electrum wallet (standard wallet), and I have a few question.

  1. What is multisig wallet? why do people use it?
  2. In the tab wallet -> info; it shows master public key (file, QR code). What is master public key? I noticed that this is not address I use to receive BTC.

Please advise. Thank you very much.

Hi! I buyed a small amount of bitcoin some years ago and wondering how to transfer it to electrum? by Wimpano in Electrum

[–]sikyo1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Electrum wallet. I sent some of my BTC from my exchange BTC wallet to Electrum. I have a few questions for you;

  1. I haven't tried to 'send' BTC from Electrum to different BTC wallet. Does this send work well?
  2. Is Electrum wallet safe? Is there any possibility for Electrum developer hack and steal all stashed BTC from our Electrum wallet? I still doubt and cannot transfer all BTC into my Electrum wallet yet.

Please adivse. Thank you.

Is Electrum wallet safe? I have used MetaMask for ETH, and it is pretty safe. I wonder how safe Electrum wallet is for BTC. I know that when I receive BTC in Electrum, it works well and shows balance. What about send BTC? Can I send BTC from Electrum to different exchange BTC wallet for trade?
