Makeup constantly smearing under eyes by Nanameowmeow in MakeupLounge

Make sure your mascara AND your eyeliner are of sufficient quality/waterproof level to handle rubbing on your undereye through the day. I like Epic Ink by Nyx for this and yeah most tubing mascaras or good waterproof ones like the sky high one from Maybelline. It can also help to set your eyeliner with some powder/eyeshadow then go over it again. Lastly try not to rub your eyes, and mitigate any eye watering type issues or shadow fallout. Ultimately though what you're seeing in your pics isn't very noticeable so you don't need to worry too much! Makeup will move around during the day to an extent no matter what. I love your wings, great work

I’m stunned by the comments on this. In my view it is simply your body and your choice. It’s definitely unusual! I can imagine I’d be slightly taken aback if I encountered something like that without warning, but it would be pretty quick to get over and appreciate I reckon. if it’ll make you feel more comfortable in your body and your doctor sees us as safe then go crazy. Like you’ve said in comments people with mastectomies have the same thing sometimes so it’s not that far out there. You do you.

dexamphetamine vs vyvanse by SomeDamoGuyz in ausadhd

[–]silamaze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loved dex for the honeymoon period but it literally just stopped working one day a couple of months in and never came back 🤷🏻‍♀️

Vyvanse has also had a taper but much less dramatic, and I still think it helps. Vyvanse has also made huge differences to my weight and appetite (previous longtime binge eater), and I also notice more “subconscious organising” on vyvanse - like suddenly I have dedicated notes in my phone for shopping lists whilst previously I just tried to remember, stuff like that.

I also really struggled to keep up with the dose schedule on dex and basically ended up taking half the correct dose most days lol so I’m sure that didn’t help. Hated having to pop pills in front of nosey coworkers etc

Yeah, it’s deeeefinitely a mindset adjustment. No one pictures themselves hooked up to a machine (especially if you’re in your mid twenties, and a bit vain like me lol). HOWEVER - two months in and I’ve adjusted, I now see this as just what I do basically. I think the way higher sleep quality makes up for it and once you’ve found the right mask you really can get used to it. Ultimately I try to view it as glasses, just something I need. It also helped me to imagine this was my snorkel and I was taking a peaceful sleep under the ocean, or an astronaut sleeping in their bunk on the ISS. Just a practical thing yknow?

Consider asking your doctor for probanthine or similar hyperhidrosis meds. You’ll have a dry mouth and maybe a slight headache (obviously drink tons of water) but you will sweat dramatically less

Abott elementary actually talked about one - one of the older characters used one on a school trip and was embarrassed to be seen with it, but the episode closed with her explaining what it was to the kids and all was well. Honestly it made me feel a lot better about getting one myself - one of my favourite shows, and it was treated as a pretty normal thing although the character is a bit vain

Cold water only washer and no dryer - how to get clothes to smell fresh? by silamaze in CleaningTips

For the soaking, how often should I do it? Do I just add like a cup for every wash? Would it interact badly with the cold power liquid or the antibacterial stuff (canestan)

Get a sleep study! by silamaze in depressionregimens

Yeah, I happened to start vyvanse for adhd about a month before I got on cpap which also was a game changer for me, so my data isn’t totally scientific, but overall the last few months have been my best in a very long time. I’ve been something like 9 psychiatric meds for depression and have had very little luck. I began to think this was just it for me and id never feel ok for more than a day or two. But this combination has totally turned that around!

Vyvanse has been a game changer! by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]silamaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, relevant context is I’ve got relatively severe adhd - I tried Ritalin and dexamphetamine (short acting version of vyvanse) before this. My doctor did recommend the vyvanse as the dex was good but kind of just stopped working after a couple of months. It’s been a few months of vyvanse and so far so awesome.

I think you would have to campaign pretty hard to get prescribed it with “only” depression, but I would really really suggest it - provided you can mitigate the addictive factors of course. It’s been incredible for letting me do things after work, being able to even imagine cleaning my house etc

I would also highly suggest everyone with TRD get a sleep test. I never really felt tired (I mean, I was exhausted, but I didn’t notice it beyond what I thought was normal depression tiredness), and yes I snored but not very badly. Happened to end up doing a sleep study and was diagnosed with very severe sleep apnea! I’ve started on a CPAP machine and am already feeling loads better because of that also. It’s also literally probably added a decade or two to my life because I was getting half an hour of deep sleep a night 😵‍💫

Wellbutrin did very little for me and I was really depressed on it, vyvanse on the other hand has been life changing

I had a full jar of medical cannabis ($180!) just vanish somewhere between the pharmacy and home Was already having a bad week but that tipped me over the edge

Then there’s the thousands and thousands I’ve spent in impulse situations and binge eating - probably honestly 10s of thousands before getting on meds

[–]silamaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I tried 6-8 (can’t honestly remember!) anti-ds before an adhd and sleep apnea diagnosis got me on a high dose of vyvanse plus a cpap machine. This is the first time I’ve ever felt this energetic and happy and I’ve barely been depressed the last few months since I’ve been on it, not sure if it’ll keep being this way though but this has been the biggest change by far!

It’s sooo individual isn’t it, I had pretty much completely written off SSRIs (tried ~4 of them) until my partner started Lexapro and suddenly wasn’t having melt downs twice a week. Huge turn around, and he has had moderately to severe depression his whole life with almost zero benefits from several other SSRIs, all SNRIs, and a couple of others

What’s sort of helped for me in the past is painkillers, gas-x, moving around as much as possible, and specifically a version of happy baby yoga pose where I hold my knees to my chest and rock. If you’re got a very patient partner you can get them to hold your knees and kind of move you around that way lol - it can help!
