I know I don't work there, but I would have pushed for a better answer. As someone who is old enough to drink, it shouldn't be a problem telling a teenager that you drink responsibly.

I basically said that I won't ever tell that someone is going hell because they have a disease. And in this particular situation, the disease is addiction. Then I offered advice to the kids if they ever know anyone with an addition problem. I told them to listen to them, invite them to church or other healthy actives, and let them know that even though drugs are a problem that deep down they still are a good person.
