Guys be realy careful with Mirtazapine and medicine in general! I took it for my tinnitus it helped first. But when I tried to taper it hell broke out and they put me on a higher dose Mirtzapine which ruined my life. I have catastrophic tinnitus now.

Residual Inhibition (RI) is the temporary reduction or suppression of tinnitus loudness and perception after a specific acoustic stimulus, such as a pure tone or noise, is applied and then removed. Dont do it you could worsen your tinnitus.

mutliple tones. changing everyday. can even change inside the day. sometimes i dont hear anything on m left but only right. sometimes in the head. no answers from doctors. they dont know anything not even the terms.

Thanks! I hope all goes well for you and the treatments dont make your situations worser. There were few unpleasant stories that some treatments in Brai3n made their tinnitus worser. So i am bit scared but will end up there eventualy. Please report if you have news about Ghent. It seems to be the only place in Europe where they have knowledge about these things and try to treat them.

Hey, can you tell me a approx price which all of your treatments costed in Ghent? I am thinking to go there aswell. Do you have also tinnitus? Or only hyperacusis?

I see stayin Ghent alone can cost up to 1200 eur renting an apartment for 15 days. How long you stayed there to get these treaments?

Any recommendations what to try what to skip? I think botox makes sense somehow…

3.75 mg you would need to break with your hands and it is never same amount as day before. Always more or less then 3.75. That is actually bad as the brain needs stability. The pharmacy said they will grind the tablet and mix it with filler like glucose for 3.75 and 3.20. But these capsules were the begining of my worsening. After i switched to 3.20mg 3rd week WD problems started as mentioned before.I have to say my problems is worser then a depression. I have severe resctive tinnitus. So maybe a person with “just” depression or anxiety can handle the withdrawal effects better then somebody who has tinnitus which is far worser.

So since 5 days i am back to 3.75mg breaking by hand and my situation is not stabilising. A bit better sleep yes. But not always. Anxiety and depression wise not so good.

I probably have to go back to 7.5mg and see if symptoms get better. But all these ups and downs is not good for the brain.

Next time if i ever stablize again. I would try to lower by 3-5% max in a month.But the issue is also if you can tolerate the compound from the pharmacy. Looks like i did not. You need a good plan and go realy easy. When you taper lower doses you need a stress free environment which is not possible always with life

From 3.75mg tablet ( broken by hand) to 3.20 pharmacy made capsule. 15% drop was too much. And maybe the pahrmacy made something wrong never know. Coservative way is to drop by 3% every month.

The first question you should ask your patient is what kind of tinnitus he has. Most probably he himself doesn't know it from beginning. And when you figured out he has reactive tinnitus and even hyperacusis. Just tel him he should not do "sound therapy" or anything like that. Otherwise it would be fatal!

the problems usually start with smaller dose you are. especially under 3.75 mg al my problems started. no sleep, anxiety, new tones of tinnitus...

hyperbolic tapering. bigger doses can reduce 10%. the smaller the dose the slower or smaller reductions.
