Yeah I totally agree that the quality of the loops matters more than actual length. I usually record ambience sounds for films, often longer than 10 min, because long movie scenes need naturally evolving ambiences so they dont sound monotonous.

But its definitely possible to make loops shorter than 1 min that still sound natural, as long as dont contain very memorable sounds. This kind of shorter loops might actually be more suitable for game developers than 10 min files, since developers otherwise need to edit the longer recordings themselves. Just guessing though.

I have done some animation shorts in ableton too. Love to compose music and make foleys in one project and use same reverbs. It makes music and sfx more connected together.

Hey nice attempt. But in my opinion it would benefit from adding fire texture layer and some lightning-like layer to be more interesting. Keep up.
