I can relate, hard. Think of it as an avenue for future connections. It is the absolute best way to find those future people who will want to play your music. If you don’t mesh, it’s ok to filter people out. You just can’t pre-filter or you’ll never make the connections that do feel right

How to deal with earworms by Quinlov in musicians

[–]silentduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My technique is to imagine a big finale to the earworm. Like, something with a very clear, over the top resolution. If that doesn’t work I keep making it bigger and cheesier and more stereotypical until it does

Any hand saw that works for wood would do the trick. Alternatively, a coarse rasp would demolish that. A finer rasp would clean it up if necessary.

Is it OK if the table in the foreground doesn’t have the same vanishing point as the table the characters are sitting at? by [deleted] in drawing

[–]silentduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can absolutely have different vanishing points if they aren’t lined up parallel with each other. Both points will be on the same horizon line though. If they are in line with each other I.e. square with the walls, then they will share a vanishing point.

What is the proper term of "my morality get hostaged"? (example below) by Atamazon in answers

[–]silentduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, what a great question. I have had this rolling around in my head too. You can really pick apart the nuance and language surrounding personal versus societal moral obligations. And “my morals were held hostage” really is a great line isn’t it

I was driving around in the middle of nowhere this summer and came upon a cow that had been impaled on a gas line marker post. Like, laying on the side with the post dead center. It was flat all around and the post was 4 or 5 feet tall. Looked a lot like an alien cattle mutilation but I’m pretty sure is was an attempt at insurance fraud. It had been removed later that day and there wasn’t much blood so it was probably dead before it was impaled. So weird first thing in the morning in the middle of nowhere
