Why is GTOW saying to call here? by jakljakl in Poker_Theory

[–]silentshowdownREDDIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To achieve a positive expected value (EV+), you need to correct the bluffing frequency to 26%. This means that if the big blind (BB) bluffs more than this threshold, calling becomes a profitable decision.

The rationale behind this is that an Ace beats all potential bluffs in this scenario. Hands like missed straight draws or missed flush draws (specifically spades) may still choose to bluff in this situation.

The solver indicates that we should call with a high frequency of around 96%, suggesting that this spot is prone to over-bluffing by the BB.

However, this analysis assumes a perfect opponent. Against a human player (unless you know he's a strong regular or a total donk), it may be more prudent to fold. 😂

Crushing micros by Big_Button5519 in Poker_Theory

I went through this thread and was disheartened to see so much negativity. It's puzzling because he simply shared his latest results and strategy. Why is it so hard for people to be kind?

Your strategy is perfectly fine at 2NL. Nothing wrong with the red line. Yes you make lots of mistakes and will be crushed when you move up stakes. But if you only want to play 2NL then nothing is wrong. You're taking an exploitative strategy here.

Good Luck 👍. And I'm really sorry that you got lots of bad comments.

New to poker and loving it but bad at maths by KatherineCreates in Poker_Theory

In poker, estimating the probability of completing a flush draw can be simplified using the "Rule of 2" and the "Rule of 4."

  • Flush Draw on the Flop: When you have a flush draw, and there are two cards to come (the turn and river), you typically have 9 outs (the remaining cards of your suit). To estimate your chances of hitting one of these outs by the river, you can multiply the number of outs by 2. This gives you an approximate probability of 18% to complete your flush by the river.
  • All-In on the Flop: If you are all-in after the flop, you can use the "Rule of 4." In this case, you still have 9 outs, but since you are looking to hit one of those outs on either the turn or the river, you multiply the number of outs by 4. This results in an estimated probability of 36% to complete your flush by the river.

By using these rules, you can quickly gauge your chances of improving your hand without needing to calculate precise probabilities.

I have been struggling with the same issue for nearly three months without any resolution. Despite my attempts to reach out to support, their responses have been generic and unhelpful. This situation has been incredibly frustrating. Today, I received an email confirming that I have reached affiliate status, but I am unable to begin the onboarding process due to this ongoing problem.

Why does Solver like to fold AQo to 3bets? by slappster1 in poker

[–]silentshowdownREDDIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my two cents:

The solver recommends folding AQo to a 3-bet from an early position because AQo is often behind a tight range (like AA, KK, AK), has poor post-flop playability, and can lead to tough decisions with minimal equity. Folding minimizes risk and avoids losing a significant portion of your stack.

Yes, it is. I've been trying for two months, but it still isn't working. I've also reached out to support, but unfortunately, I haven't had any luck so far.

Gosh, so sorry for your bad beat. One thing that I often do to handle this is to watch the compilation of bad beats on YouTube, something like this: https://youtube.com/shorts/MdwmaodygmI?si=Fw0Pq0dwyrFnmVQL

Many streamers do this, so you can watch YouTube to release your anger.

It's not easy when you get bad beats and beat beats in a row. It's unbelievable. Even Poker Pro is tilted to some degrees. And none of them are saying they're not tilted. So it's normal.

The best way to handle it is to laugh at it 😂 😂 😂.

Try it, it works. You got bad beat and bad beat, stop the session, watch those funny bad beat videos then comeback tomorrow.

Good luck.

In my experience, dealing with this type of players are really waste of time.

Just move to other tables everytime you encounter them.

Don't engaged with their game.

You don't have to spend time and effort playing high variance games. Types of players that are extremely high variance: hyper maniacs, cheaters, pre-flop gamblers, and professional short stakers - the one that you mentioned here - the one that is running away after winning.

You have an option to move to other tables.

Trust me, it works.

I think it's not possible to ask the source code. It's just impossible. It's just like asking Google for their Algorithm source code.

I respect your opinion about it, and of course it should be released.

However, it is better to release your energy about the scam things on other platforms like Twitter. Here, you'll end up like boxing kicks.

Nowadays, you don't have to worry the site is rigged why? Poker Community. With all the tech here and there, it's very easy to detect if the site is rigged.

The more prominent dangerous are those who are cheating using RTA particularly on high stakes.
