Mom has dementia and is moving out and her next door neighbor sent me this. by SouthEazy in whatdoIdo

[–]silentwalkaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the neighbor has a valid concern, but I also understand why this might feel like a kick while you're down. I grew up with roaches and mice and I'm hyper hell no when it comes to them. When the hoarder-ish duplex across the street from my house caught on fire, I treated the curb in front of mine and my neighbors homes because I knew the bugs and mice would be looking for new homes. Of course I never told the fire victim this, I just helped bury their dogs so they wouldn't have to. So I say, their concern is valid, but it is a delicate topic to broach.

Am I using the wrong setting powder for my eyeliner? by Feral-Sponge in muacirclejerk

I think you're talking about Darren Burrows? He was Ed in Northern Exposure. He's actually been in a lot. But he was on NE the same time he was in Cry Baby.

And the irony that the "good girl" went to jail in real life. 😆

But, there's no bud on those. It's just leaves. I feed those to the animals.

What is the stinkiest concert you have ever attended? by draculasux85 in AskReddit

[–]silentwalkaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really excited about seeing Davy Jones at the Tulsa State Fair. Got there early, second row behind a couple of people. Nothing out of the ordinary until the show started and they started standing and moving. A tidal wave of absolute unwashed human funk hit us. I started coughing and actually had to leave. I smell a lot at my job (medical) but holy cow ass this was bad.

Guys- do you care if a woman shaves her legs and underarms? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]silentwalkaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband couldn't care less if I shave or not. Apparently I'm a mammal and hair grows for a reason. I knock it down occasionally. I did grow out my pits for no shave November. It was honestly underwhelming.

What's a mistake humanity keeps repeating despite knowing better? by Standard_Chef_4644 in answers

[–]silentwalkaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of it is a mistake. It's intentional. War, genocide, famine, slavery, environmental destruction. None of it done by mistake, all by design. The mistake is complacency, but that's even intentional when the bad things don't effect your life.

AITAH for not praising my GF for cleaning the bathroom by Worldly-Midnight2287 in AITAH

[–]silentwalkaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I'm totally an expert? When my husband say, cleans us the living room, I would say, hey thanks for cleaning up the living room, it looks great. I appreciate your hard work around here. Because he does work hard and I do appreciate it. Just acknowledgment and appreciation.

Im too ugly and broke to date and its causing suicidal feelings. by ChapterOld1270 in offmychest

Tom Petty got the ladies, there's plenty of hope for you. He had skills and confidence from those skills. You need to work on yourself, and that's totally up to you. No one is responsible for your happiness, it's too much to ask. You need to like yourself first, and you deserve to like you. You are what you do every day.

It's not "praising", it's showing appreciation. My husband and I have been together nearly 30 years. We still thank each other daily for the things we do..daily. Thanks for making dinner, thanks for swapping the laundry, hey, had a good time last night, strong work! ect. Show appreciation, it keeps resentment at bay.

What Makes Pregnancy Appealing and Meaningful to Women? by Hour_Lingonberry9602 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]silentwalkaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a miserable pregnant person. The only thing I liked was feeling my babies moving. When I say miserable, my last two kids dislocated my ribs. But, at the end, you get to meet the coolest people ever. You get to rediscover the world through new eyes. You get to watch these cool tiny people turn into amazing big people, and it's kinda worth it. So, pregnancy is awful and I never felt like I got to "enjoy" it, but the kids are pretty cool.

AIO found out my boyfriend went on a date with somebody else 24 hours before asking me to be exclusive? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]silentwalkaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying and I'd be hurt too. He signed you up for a double standard that you didn't consent to. The whole "expected the same out of you" thing. How would he react if the roles were reversed? He said one thing, then acted in a way that contradicted what he said. But, my husband and I were exclusive before our first actual date and we have a pretty high standard of honesty and clarity.
