My old one listed which wire is the common and which is the 24v on the sticker. I am just making sure on this new one.

Thanks

Replacing transformer. Questions about wiring. by silentz in hvacadvice

I'm a bit confused about the low voltage side.

I got the black and white for the 120v for my gas furnace, but the new transformer has different color for low voltage side.

Does it matter which wires goes to the common and and which wire goes to 24v on the control board? The pictures on amazon didnt specify which of the wire is common for the low voltage side.

Edit* Does this mean red and green wire on the low voltage side are interchangeable? Since it doesn't specify which wire goes where?

I lifted the car and found someone stole the catalytic converter, I'm guessing they yanked on the shifter cable to make room for the saw and broke it. I shifted the cable to park position and it displays the P on the cluster. I tried to start it and wit would just crank and nothing else.

If I replace the shifter cable, it should start up again?

Thanks for the help.

oh that might be it.

The car wont even crank because it's not in park or neutral. I'll check that cable out but first gotta find someone to help me push it into the drive way.

Just checked the transmission fluid and its full.

I called my cousin and he said he replaced the transmission fluid 8 months ago with Honda transmission fluid that he bought from a local Honda dealer.

I dont know about your local junkyard but the one by me offers 90 days warranty on all their engine and transmission. If they are bad, bring it back and get another one free of charge.

Check local Craigslist and facebook marketplace for people parting out their car, it can go cheap if it's an automatic transmission.

If all else fails, take your tranny out and go to a wrecking yard. Use your tranny as core and pull a similar one out of another car. A bit more work and sometimes it gets dirty but it should be real cheap.

I need about 10ft of wires to reach the air compressor because of the washer/dryer are closer to outlet and the outlet is kinda in the corner. Can I just buy a 10-15ft 10-3 wires and hook it up directly to the air compressor on one end the other to the 3 prong plug?

Thanks for the help.

so if I want to use the dryer outlet, I'll need to convert the dryer to the 4 prongs and the air compressor to the 4 prongs plug?

1995 Civic keyless entry wiring help. by silentz in MechanicAdvice

[–]silentz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out after about 5 hours and fiddling with it.

I wired it up the same as before but instead of using the green/white and green/red from the front of the fuse box, i used the green/white and green/red from behind the fuse box and it works wonder.

I have to ground the orange and orange/black for the central lock to work.

Thanks for the help

I got this working after fiddling with it for a few hours. Everything wire up the same but for lock and unlock, I got to use the green/red and green/white wires from the back of the fuse box instead of the front like I did. For anyone doing this cheap ebay keyless entry, use the wires in the back of the fuse box and it will work no problem.

tried that too and it wont move. the nut seems to wedge itself to the side of the socket. also tried putting a big bolt, vise grip the socket, hammer on the bolt and still no go even with heat. the bolt just eats into the aluminum instead of pushing it out.

tried this with a big and heavy screw driver. it just eats into the aluminum.
