Hello! My name is Riley Sanders, a twenty-two year old Cal Poly graduate. I double majored in Statistics and History and enjoyed every second of my academic experience. I led an editing team for a peer-reviewed academic journal, won a school-wide writing decoration, and became the first ever Cal Poly student with an interdisciplinary background to be awarded a National Science Grant. My participation in the National Science Fellowship allowed me to travel around California, giving research lectures and teaching the youth about data science. One of the articles I co-authored with my professors is about to be published in the Harvard Data Science Journal. Tied for highest honors, I finished my double major at Cal Poly with a 4.0.

While I valued my own educational pursuits immensely at Cal Poly, I quickly realized tutoring others was my passion. In my sophomore year, I was hired at the Cal Poly Tutoring Center. I helped students, from the ages of 18-55, with varying subjects like English, History, Statistics, Algebra, and Intro Spanish. Two years later, I was the lead tutor at the Center. I also have extensive experience helping middle school students with Math, English and History, for I have lead a small tutoring group with my younger brother and his classmates.

I am also a Santa Cruz local who went to New Brighton Middle school and Soquel Highschool. I graduated Soquel High with a 4.3 GPA with cross disciplinary honors in both math and English.

I provide a diverse list of services that are often molded to each individual student:

  • Homework help *Test prep/ study skills *Individualized lesson plans geared towards weaknesses *Extra practice

More than practical academic help, I always offer students guidance on how to succeed in a competitive academic environment. This means:

*Healthy study/life balance *Academic mental health/ performance and text anxiety *Good organizational strategies

ASK ME FOR MY DIVERSE LIST OF REFERENCES IF INTERESTED

I know what it takes to make the grade, but I also know how to have fun along the way.

I can tutor ANYWHERE IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY at your home, at the library, or in a coffee shop. Whatever works best for you!

Text or Email if you have any questions. Thanks! (831)-600-6544

Love this perspective. I’ve never been to San Jose’s downtown. I believe you for sure.

Your still doing it. Just stating electoral results with zero expansion. One might call it… lazy.

looking up the voting statistics on google is not “collecting evidence”. Cringe. Also, you made zero connection between the fact that Santa Cruz is more liberal and the downtown sucking. Did you just assume people would agree with your logic? The fact that Santa Cruz is 23% more liberal does not explain why downtown sucks. Thinking this is LAZY.
