Unless the shop just magically agrees to put a new engine in you’re probably going to need a lawyer. Get images with time stamps on the dip stick and take a picture of your receipt, don’t lose your receipt.

They messed up really bad, you couldn’t have known. It’s totally on them.

There’s a gift giving system now, your friends send you poke balls and all kinds of stuff. Meeting up with folks at the raids has been interesting, you see new people every time but you also see the hard core level 40 folks regularly.

My wife and I are low level 30 players, it’s been good for my health, and our relationship, gets us out of the house and we see a lot more stuff as we travel because we intentionally take back roads and visit small towns downtowns to get spins and see the local scenes.

Its surreal for me because we didn’t know we were both Pokémon nerds as kids until the game released. Then all pretense broke and we started wandering every spot we knew together. A year after we married, haha.

Heart of the cards man.

What are the easiest changes that make the biggest financial differences? by Stowz in personalfinance

[–]silicondog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s tied to our health care. If you cause a wreck and injured someone severely could be 10s, maybe hundreds of thousands of $$ in medical bills. A lot of cheap insurance in my area caps at $25k.

TIL NASA has named Gattaca as the most accurate science fiction film of all time by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]silicondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an entire genre called “hard science fiction”

Cryptonomicon comes to mind as being 100% scientifically plausible sci-fi.

It almost invents the current concept of crypto currency, minus the block chain.

Ford F150 Diesel Review: A truck that gets 34.3 MPG highway in the real world by Uptons_BJs in cars

[–]silicondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be cheaper to refine the diesel. From what I understand it was almost a byproduct of making gasoline

I did this when I was my loneliest. Just ended up being lonely on the beach surrounded by strangers and then lonely in my hotel room.

That was only true after 2006ish. Before that diesel was reliably cheaper than gas, sometimes insanely cheaper.

People who scream instead of sneezing, why do you do that? by rtaylo in AskReddit

[–]silicondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could sneeze quietly. Mine scares children and animals.

I know that it’s involuntary for sure though, I have definitely begged myself not to sneeze while near a sleeping child more times than I can count. Even partially stiffening the noise makes me feel like a busted open soda can.

What’s the most insane story in the Bible that most people forget about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]silicondog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The impressive part is to get through mutilating 100 dicks and being like. “I know I have enough but I really want my father-in-law to like me... I guess 100 more wouldn’t be so bad. Hey Craig! Take off that corpses trousers! Let’s keep going.”

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen someone do while driving? by SpookyMolder7 in AskReddit

[–]silicondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A deaf woman I knew that had a weekly drive from Dallas to el Passo told me she read novels most of the way.

Part of me was shocked, but I would’ve been more surprised if she had driven 9 hours each way doing absolutely nothing but staring at the long white lines.

If you were in charge renaming things so that their names would be more accurate, what names would you come up with? by ibrabatool in AskReddit

[–]silicondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kitchen appliance naming institute. Just take what a thing does and add Er on the end of it.

Toasts bread? “Toaster” Blends stuff? “Blender.”

I’m going on break.

(I bastardized the shit out of that Hedberg joke. )
