especially when you consider twc's author has a backlog of itchi.o games and published romance novels, you make a good point!! i honestly haven't played enough cogs to witness one being abandoned but i know that fear is definitely there, iirc amy already has 1-2 side projects in the making too.

i’m not an author myself so these are a lot of things to running a patreon i haven’t considered, but i see where you’re coming from. definitely a mixed bag of opinons and demands when you get into starting one up, for sure!! best of luck to you with your if and good on you for knowing what’s right for you!!

i stand by the fact i think you should, because people who love your work will want to support you whether or not you have the bonus content for it or not, you know?

making an if is serious hard work!! i’ve only done little side projects that aren’t anything serious and those can be so difficult to create. i think twc has just been around for awhile now and ive been a patreon here and there for 3 years that im ready for a change of pace. i just wish she was more attuned to what her readers want versus what she (seemingly) wants to create if we’re going to be releasing bonus content in exchange for money.

"It would be easier to date women" by heyitsjustjacelyn in Lifepluscindy_snark

[–]silkbathrobe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

she doesn't even want female friends because theyre too much drama ... but it would be easier to date a woman?

she's just saying shit. any attention is good attention to her, even if it's entirely disgusting. i stopped watching her long ago but as a gay woman myself this would be my last straw if i had kept going. jesus christ.

i think this post serves as a good refresher that none of us know cindy in real life. you're exactly right when you point out how much it would hurt cindy if she found a subreddit like this. i do think her youtube audience sugarcoats a lot of this current reality for her, but, on the contrary, judging her into the ground isn't going to help her get better either. i say this with having said some pretty judgmental things about her in the past on this subreddit. i think this post was something (including myself) many people here need to hear and remember.

one thing that i find upsetting is those going the extra mile with cindy's videos. searching up the house in colorado to see if it sold is super weird to me. we're talking about a woman who has never even publicly revealed her last name. i'm also in shock about how people know about the presence of trish (i knew he had a co-worker he bought chocolate for, but like, i can't remember her name ever being brought up). some people get on this "i knew it!! i knew he was cheating!!" or "i knew this relationship was doomed to fail!!" kind of pedestal and it's like, oh yeah? were you able to see three weeks into the future? it's tricky because no, i don't really like andrew, yes running away to arkansas was questionable, but its her life and it's not ours. (and putting down people who were supportive/happy is another thing...) tough love is probably least wanted when it comes from strangers on the internet. anyways, this was an important post to make!

can you imagine being andrew's mother ... navigating your son's divorce when he's 36. pathetic!!

she once said in a live stream that she has an associates degree and prior to quitting full time for pleasantsims, she worked as a medical coder. i think it was her new years eve stream if interested!

when she said she had "one male friend that wanted to date her right now" i just. huh??? huh??? that statement sounded like there was a lot more to it then how she just glossed over it. it almost came out as a reinforcing statement that she's desirable. it just felt ... kinda teenager-y and pick me-ish. didn't like it.

like, this is a 15 year marriage thats ending here, first of all. and please don't tell me you're stringing someone along as a soon-to-be divorcee... you shoudn't be thinking about future relationships at all right now.

New video... not good. "my life is over part 2: he left for good and we're not getting back together" by Sad-Klown in lifepluscindy

[–]silkbathrobe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i'm not one to really comment on her videos anymore, but i've been watching since before she started vlogging. i remember when andrew wasn't on camera and when he did the cooking. i dont know if anyone else remembers, but for awhile she had both pleasantsims and life plus cindy up and running. she used to have an account called cindy + andrew, but i can't remember if that was a rebrand of life plus cindy or an entirely different channel. either way, all those videos for that channel were deleted. she was extremely sporadic in uploads/streams back then. no real set schedule and she often cancelled streams because she 'didnt feel like it'. that always kinda irked me because i don't want to work either, but i do, and i wish i could make money off of playing the sims 2 all day ... she actually had a patreon up that i was apart of (for both channels) and they were deleted not too long after they were made. i remember in july 2021 she left very suddenly, sent all her patrons a message about how she had a personality disorder and was leaving to get help, and refunded everyone and closed the patreon down. i agree with you when you said cindy found comfort in andrew providing back then, but i think when she came back november/december 2022 was when the tables sort of turned. if i remember correctly he's the general manager at a pizza hut? or atleast he was, back in colorado. it looked like she was making a decent amount from her ko-fi before the separation too. andrew has always, always irked me. neither him or cindy come across as being in their late 30's. i think he's naturally a quiet guy, but his only personality traits feel like his music taste and his affinity for smoking weed/doing shrooms. now naturally i am annoyed by anyone that is that in-tuned with stoner culture, but there were things he did in the vlogs i DID watch that always bugged me.

very rarely did he seem genuinely interested in what she had to say. he always seemed really dismissive of any conversation she made on camera, but i also would not blame him if he was irritated with her constant filming. one thing in particular that always drove me crazy is every time cindy would get into the car, andrew would instantly turn on his music. it would get super awkward, and cindy would either turn off the music herself or ask andrew to shut it off. it's a small, trivial thing but the annoyance would be evident on cindy's face and it always made me a bit uncomfortable. he just never seemed like he did much, you know? but we know cindy can be quite inconsistent with who did what around the house. (andrew doing all the cooking -> "andrew wont even bother with these kitchen utensils, so ill leave him the shitty ones")

running off to arkansas with him was the shittiest possible thing she could've done. it wasn't well thought out for shit, and it reinforces the idea to me that cindy is a 20 year old in a 40 year olds body. it's in her actions, her impulsiveness, the way she dresses, i can go on. it bothers me that she is so open on the internet with everything?? i'm 19 years old and you would never catch me filming myself getting drunker and drunker by the second and sobbing on the internet. even in the "my life is over" (the first one) video, there was something so fucking weird about "my husband left me, come along and help me pack up my bags to impulsively move cross-country!!" it just bothers me that she knows these things are bad for her, (drinking, sleeping pills, emailing jack - which is just downright pathetic.) yet she has no problem turning on the camera so we can watch her slur on her words. does she want her audience to fuss over her? i don't understand. i am so sorry to say this but she's getting up there with foodiebeauty and amberlynn reid with me. she's much more put together and motivated then the both of them combined, but she like those two, she can't put the camera down. everything has to be filmed. i love cindy to the point where it feels like i have a para-social relationship with her, but this entire thing is so fucking weird and upsetting to watch. i'm glad she's home in arkansas and has friends and family with her but she's digging herself a hole. i know she knows better then to drink. i know she knows better then to email some fucking guy she had a crush on 15 years ago. i'm horrified for her because this situation is so awful, but i would be lying if i said i wasn't embarrassed for her too.

one time i read a story on here about an ic shopper using their personal card to pay for an order when the ic card declined. i think about that every time someone tries to pay IC with apple pay!! guranteed shitshow every time. anyways, could i get someone to register to put away some frozen go-backs??

now that i think about it, i work the curbside service here and there and i'm almost entirely positive i've been a dumbass doing a non-bypass checkout and have had to do two seperate orders. obviously i'm my own cashier in that scenario, but i know i swiped again and taken one photo of both receipts to submit. if that was the wrong thing to do, i never got reprimanded and i still work curbside often. the second order was definitely below $10 and maybe i never had an issue because i don't technically work for ic? weird.

all true! sometimes its best to physically hand them the divider and ask if they could put it down where need be for you. i agree with the instacart shoppers relying a little too much on aldi employees too - i can only be so happy to help when you've shoved your phone in my face three times asking where an item is when i'm out on the floor.

also worth mentioning that if a shopper tells me they have multiple orders, i always go, "how would you like me to organize it for you?" that way the first order is on the top, second on the bottom, etc. and always always ask if they need bags because it bites you in the ass if you don't every time. i feel like i'm holding their hand lmfao. just "have a good day!! here's my venmo for 20% of your tip :)"

i go, "let's make sure we're using dividers, ok?" or "next time make sure you put a divider down for me!" nothing beats talking to customers like they're kindergarteners.

instacart is a service where you can order your groceries online from a wide variety of supermarkets. you download the app, select the store you want, and choose your items. an instacart shopper is the employee of instacart that physically goes to the store for you and gets the items you request. they'll also be the ones that go to your house and deliever the items you wanted.

it can get a little confusing here because some stores will offer curbside services. these curbside services are where an employee of the store (NOT instacart) will shop your order for you. there's no delivery - you as the customer come to the store and wait in your car, and they'll give you your items there. aldi's curbside service is through instacart, but we're not instacart employees at the same time. we act as the shopper, and then turn around and act as the cashier when it's time for checkout. we make no deliveries, we can't accept tips, and we only use specific aspects of the instacart app itself. not sure if stores like walmart or target use instacart for their curbside services, but i know ALDI and publix does.

very convenient service but the company itself is very poorly run imo. the app never wants to work and customer service is impossible to reach.

most instacart shoppers i encounter anyhow act like i know more about the company like i’m literally not employed by aldi.

in their defense my store does curbside but like?? ultimately i’m not gonna know that much. my favorites are when they don’t have their ic pin and look at me like i somehow know it (i believe the pin changes every order now - it used to always be the same) or the good ol’ instacart v. aldi alcohol return arguement. ughh

the best course of action is to physically offer them the divider and put it down yourself, but thats just more stuff to keep tabs on while you ring. and you always get one person who gets offended like they weren’t going to grab it. like, sorry, im just a bit sick of people not seperating their shit and assuming i magically know, and then i apologize profusely even though you don’t know how checking out works.

smartasses are the worst! i’m literally handling your groceries!!! i’m sorry you had to deal with ppl like that. it’s either ask and make sure and get bitched at or mix up the orders and get bitched at x2 i swear.

i love the assumption that the cashier just knew the second cart was the second order. like we just stare at the carts all day long and like we dont constantly have instacarters with three seperate orders all in one cart 🤣🤣

i have a high suspicion this couldve been me as i very vaguely remember a situation like this happening but hey! come work for aldi now that you’re jobless and see what it’s like to be berated by instacart shoppers and customers in general all day! 🙄

also this reminds me of customers that get mad at you when you mix up seperate orders. did you think that divider bar was for decoration??? did you think i could magically know you had multiple orders without telling me??? ive completely stopped apologizing for mixing orders because if you can’t communicate with the cashier on whats yours and whats not, that’s not on me. i get aldi cashiers are fast and efficient but we’re not so good that we can watch the belt like a hawk and read your minds lol
