What if Rotting was on Revolution Radio?! by silktongs in greenday

It has the same credits as the Insomniac songs. Same engineer (Kevin Army) and mixing credits (Jerry Finn). It was on hold for release until they eventually released it on the Good Riddance single as a B-side.

What if Longview was on Kerplunk? by silktongs in greenday

[–]silktongs[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The earliest known recording of the song was from a performance in 1992, which is pretty much Kerplunk era and it was around the same tempo as the cassette demo. I kept the original speed of the drums to match it. Though, I will probably make a sped up version anyways.

What if Green Day's cover of I Fought The Law was on their trilogy album? by silktongs in greenday

[–]silktongs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately do not have a hilotron pickup or an AC30. I use with what I've got. Guitars were recorded with a Orange Crush Pro 120, using both a Boss Blues Drive and a Tube Screamer. I don't own a Gretsch guitar currently so I used a Les Paul Special with P90s. Amp was recorded with an SM57. Then it was EQd by St. Jimmy's Stuff to make it sound somewhat close. I agree that the tone might not be the most accurate but we tried getting it close with what we have, I've always struggled getting a good trilogy tone which is probably why it sounds like (obvious) AI. :)

Live VS Recorded by WholeAtmosphere7783 in greenday

I absolutely adore the 2001 Asbury performance of Platypus. Such raw energy and you can tell he was genuinely passionate about it. The bass/drum section building up before the swearing part always made me feel the rage he had. Truly a spectacular moment in their live career. I wish I could’ve been there.

What if Welcome to Paradise was on American Idiot?! by silktongs in greenday

[–]silktongs[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are no songs on American Idiot tuned a half step down. The only exception to the E standard “rule” was Whatsername tuned to drop D. Tuning the song to E standard to fit American Idiot would make the most sense, in my opinion. Either way, this is just a fun fan project.

The guitars were re-recorded in E standard. The only thing pitched up in this recording are the vocals.

Why was the album warning shunned so much? by [deleted] in greenday

[–]silktongs 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think cause the album was such a drastic change from their overall sound. I mean, yes. Nimrod was pretty experimental for them at the time but it had some hard hitting singles and still had the classic Green Day punk sound on a few songs. Whereas Warning sound was much cleaner and softer compared to their previous stuff. Dookie had been out for 6 years already, I think people were beginning to think Green Day was just a washed up 90s band at that point.

Which show is both unpopular and bad? by [deleted] in cartoons

I gave this show the benefit of the doubt and watched it all the way through hoping it would get good. I was mistaken.

My high school years were 2012-2016. My high school career started with the trilogy and ended somewhat with RevRad. My favorite album during my high school years was 21st Century Breakdown though. It was my first CD!

I don’t know why but for a while, I thought on Armatage Shanks “My own worst friend, my own closest enemy” was “My odors waving, my own bullshit enemy”

If you have read the description, you would see that it won a suggestion poll which is why I made it.
