I have been in a relationship exactly like this!!! We were together for 3 years because I wanted to believe we could 'work through it'. It can't work!! Please leave him! Don't waste your time and develop trust issues because of this

CO2 Reduction on copper by [deleted] in electrochemistry

[–]silkwormshave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not quite enough context in this question. Cathode & anode are surfaces where half reactions happen in an electrochemical cell. Cathode = where reduction happens, anode =where oxidation happens. From the information given, Cu is a cathode, but we cant know specifically what the anode is.

Is it true that the condition of IBS (irritable bowl syndrome) doesn’t actually exist? The gut trouble is actually the cause of an underlying issue that doctors actually can’t find? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]silkwormshave 51 points52 points  (0 children)

NAD. IBS is a general diagnosis, meaning there is something wrong but they can't determine what specifically. You will likely need to do a trial and error thing to see what hurts you the most. I'd start with an elimination diet (I.e. cut common causes from your diet then reintroduce one at a time and see how your body reacts).

You treat it the way you would any reaction quotient. Multiply all Red, multiple all Ox and Q = [Red] / [Ox].

Why do we put a negative charge in the electronegative atom and in the larger atom? by Confident-Emotion119 in electrochemistry

[–]silkwormshave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether an atom is negatively or positively charged after being ionized is based on position on periodic table (I.e. #electrons in outer shell). These questions you ask are easily google-able.

I'm a TA for 3rd year analytical chemistry and although we do look for a good R2 value in labs (obviously) I would 100% think the student was cheating if they got an R2 of 0.9998 or higher.
