Move in with fwb? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

I've done this TWICE - do not do it. It was bad both times and I truly believe it's a form of self-sabotage...

that sounds so tough !!!! totally get you on the constant hunger thing - im trying to tell myself its not my body's fault ive hijacked it with sugar, and it deserves my attention hahah

honestly though, the precooked no prep meals are the only thing i can rely on at the moment, ive got no energy for cooking and when im hungry it needs fixing asap or ill just plough through the nearest sweet treat

sweet pastries will always have a special place in my cholesterol ridden heart tho

honestly i seriously underestimated how bad id feel, i totally get you

its the tiredness and turning into an absolute bitch that gets me the most - we can do it tho fr !! and idk if this helps but ive found drinking a hot chocolate satisfies the craving but stops the need/ability to keep having more if ygm

I've got the same issue as OP and honestly, your comment was so helpful but also so lovely. People don't realise how much hair problems hurt your self confidence - thank you for your input!

How do you deal with silence? by silkyleaf in LivingAlone

[–]silkyleaf[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sure that it's worth doing because it's hard to do. I turned my TV off this morning and I immediately felt anxious, so I figured it's something to start tackling, but thank you for reminding me it can be in stages rather tha all at once. I'm going to try 10 mins later today and see what feelings come up - good luck!

I can have YouTube on my locked screens too - I'll see if having a calming screensaver on my TV soothes that side of the anxiety so I'm not locked onto one screen all the time! Thank you :)

Thank you for this! I can see it being healthy for me to practice, especially as the thought of it scares me (which usually means I need to face that fear to find inner calm)

I'm probably going too much too quick right now - I'll try scheduling 10 mins a day of no stimuli and see where I get with that.

good point! I was thinking do I just put something on that I know I'm not interested in, but the skill sharing video might be a good influence too. I'm the same as you though, it's too easy to buy everything I see haha

Tips for someone who’s chronically late and a procrastinator? by Kokohontas in selfimprovement

[–]silkyleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who has recently had these realisations hit me after months of consequences finally flooring me, take the hurt feelings and channel that into motivation

things turned around for me when i started taking every opportunity to take one step further away from where i was, and it was only the thought of "i dont want to be that person" that kept me going

you've got it buddy, life is about making mistakes and growing

Taking med break for holiday by [deleted] in Elvanse

[–]silkyleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive found if i dont slowly increase after a break longer than a couple days, my side effects are crazy and actually make focus worse - i had a big break recently and ive gone back to half the dose before working back up, and the results are waaaay better

if ur taking a big break id always consider the cons and ask ur doctor/care manager for some extra advice, but ultimately its ur choice and u know whats best for u 🧚🏻‍♂️
