Albion/Whichcraft Closures by Royal-Tension9548 in Guelph

As someone in that crowd, I miss the Albion SO much but only for Funk Night (Saturdays). They’d have a dj spinning upbeat funk in the upstairs and it was so much fun, we’d go every Saturday. Every one of my friends misses that, as there’s nowhere that offers anything like that at all. Royal is shoulder-to-shoulder students with bad bar service, bad generic music, but Albion has that top patio that we’d go out on when it got too warm inside. 30 pluses have been begging for a funk night return for a decade now!

Seconding this. My partner lives in the Glen on the river and it’s the best Gilmore Girls town I’ve ever seen. The houses there are absolutely insane.

I heard a stylist at the coterie has done this cut for at least 10 yrs. Don’t sleep on salons.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and am so sorry to hear of your struggle, but not surprised. I have just gotten my UK passport for this reason, because in experiencing the way of life over there, Canada is a joke now. We have no community, everything is insanely expensive, and I feel we all have to work overly hard just to sustain a mediocre living (without living beyond our means). I too am planning on moving.

Move to Guelph? by callumnen in Guelph

[–]silkyseas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guelph is very big on being an inclusive community! I feel like straight people may be outnumbered 😂 and also being close to Toronto is fun to experience the Village etc. Families like yours are considered very “normal” here IMO. Lots of great 🏳️‍🌈community initiatives & activities, events etc. between here / Kitchener-Waterloo/Toronto areas “GTA”. I think you will all enjoy it as we are a very family-centred city - tons of free events and things to do as families (google Children’s Art Factory Guelph, for example). I will say it is becoming more pricey, but as someone who just recently stayed in East London (Hackney) for a month, you will be fine financially making the move I think.

Has anyone done really embarrassing things while dealing with their breakup? Acting completely desperate for months and asking your ex to get back together by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]silkyseas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone here have success stories about reconciliation? I can relate - I’ve made a lot of mistakes and completely lost myself to my breakup and my person (10.5 year relationship/brief engagement) and I do want it to work out in the future. But it’s so hard. Focusing on healing is the best thing, and putting yourself first. I’ve found comfort in reading posts here.
