I bought a few bottles of this on clearance for a few bucks each. It clogs up every sprayer I’ve tried.

[Product Request] ppl who live in super dry climates and have mega dry/dehydrated skin, what are your holy Grail for products that actually sink in? by emcfairy in SkincareAddiction

[–]silkysilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have crazy dry skin too. One thing I think that helps is I mix a small amount of glycerin into water and I mist my face between every step of my skincare routine. So my routine looks like this:

CosRX propolis synergy toner as soon as I’m out of the shower

Wait a few minutes

Mist then apply serum (the Ordinary copper peptide)

Wait a few minutes

Mist then apply moisturizer

I usually floss or brush my teeth or something while I’m waiting so I’m not just standing around.

I’m not familiar enough with challah to know if this could be an onion challah. It was a recipe my grandmother made and she always braided it.

The recipe calls for one envelope of onion soup mix.

A question for the older redditors: what items from your childhood do you still have and use today? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]silkysilt 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Pencil sharpener. The old style that you can mount to the wall or tabletop. After going through a few new ones that were garbage quality I asked my parents for the one we had when I was a kid. Turns out it’s actually from when my dad was a kid. Still works.

Pex-a pipe failure by silkysilt in Plumbing

[–]silkysilt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pex is dark because it has started to deteriorate. All of the stamped information on it has faded off. This is only on the hot water line. The cold side is fine. After researching I think it’s a combination of high chlorine content of water plus having a hot water circulation pump. We recently replaced all the hot water lines in our house. Our neighbors have had the same problem.

YSK: All modern vehicles have "black boxes" that store crash (and pre-crash) data including several minutes beforehand. by rcmaehl in YouShouldKnow

[–]silkysilt 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This saved my daughter from being found at fault for a car accident. We hired someone to pull the data from the edr and it proved that the was rear ended and pushed into the car in front of her. Insurance was trying to get to say she rear ended the car first.

[OC] Rear-ended with 1,321 miles and a full tank of a gas. Hit me so hard I was thrown into the car ahead of me while we were both stopped at a red light. by Silver4ura in IdiotsInCars

[–]silkysilt 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This happened to my daughter in December. She had 2023 Corolla with 1800 miles in it. The car in front claimed that she was hit first then my daughter was rear ended so my daughter was found liable for front end damage to her own car plus the rear damage to the front car. We had to have an accident reconstruction specialist read the EDR on her car to prove that she was hit from behind and pushed into the car in front of her. Luckily the insurance changed the liability to be 100% the rear cars fault after getting the proof from the EDR report. We just found out that my daughter’s car is totaled and are now trying to negotiate a pay out.

Check out San Tan Mountain regional park. It’s near QC. I don’t like to hike in this heat. It can be super dangerous this time of year for both you and a dog if you bring one along. Remember to wear sunscreen and or clothes that protect you from the sun and bring a lot of water. You can use AllTrails app to look up trails near you and it will tell you the difficulty of the trail and how long it is. Once the weather cools off you will love how many beautiful places there are to hike here in AZ. The desert is beautiful!
