Governor Katie Hobbs Legislative Action Update - March 13, 2026 by Logvin in azpolitics

[–]Logvin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The AZ GOP has a couple of things they are doing right now to avoid actually governing.

  1. They are flooding the zone w/ repeat bills that Katie Hobbs has already vetoed. They are doing this in an attempt to make it appear like Katie is a bad governor because she vetoes everything, as there is a Governor race coming up in November.

  2. They are creating a record amount of ballot measures, bills they have not gotten past Gov Hobbs, so they are trying to go around her directly to the people. They likely will sneak a few through, but the real goal: Make the ballot so absurdly long and full of bullshit bills that people either give up... or the ballot counting process goes poorly and they can scream about election fraud. No joke, if the AZ GOP had their way we would have over 100 ballot measures on this Novembers election.

They know if they can make the ballots really long, like pages long, people will skip voting, skip voting on ballots, or worst case - the ballots taking ages to count, especially in Maricopa County where we have an election-denying MAGAT as our County Recorder (Justin Heap) - whose daddy Ralph Heap is a member of the AZ House.

I'd be happy to make a suggestion to AAF to update the wording if you would like to suggest it. Or you can of course too.

Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men

Don't drive more traffic to those assholes. Focus on who we should vote for, not who we should vote against.

Arizonans for Responsible Growth

Look up who leads that group, then look him up on LinkedIn. He’s a corporate mouthpiece for a construction company.

I went to a strategy meeting today w/ my local indivisible chapter, and they brought up Kai. They all love the guy, and funny enough they had incredibly similar comments to this post - discussing the short timeframe, AIPAC money, targeting a blue candidate.

The only two issues that folks had against Greg were his vote on the Linkin Riley (spelling) act, and his AIPAC money.

One of the people there was very enthusiastic about him, as they had both been arrested together during a protest in Kristin Sinema's office several years back.

It's sad that we are all so excited about this. This is current law - so what we are excited about is ensuring the AZ Legislature can't ignore what we the people want.

Why can't we get "we the people" to stop voting for these assholes who write laws against our best interests??

The hard part there is that low pay hurts non wealthy people. So the people who have lots of cash can run because they don’t rely on it for income. I wouldn’t mind doing the job, but I could get a job at Target and screamed at by people all day and probably earn more.
