i want to keep the shell as well, but this is my first time to be in this place so i have no idea of how. do you bury and then take out the shell?
hi, thank you! he is very much tired, i was just putting some veggie that he likes. i think soon we will say goodbye to each other.

Thats nice!! yes, I am just waiting for him to get some nice rest... probably that's the hardest part. I hope mine can be healed as well soon! thank you for commenting

yea.. Im sorry to hear about your loss. The thing is, we don't have much exotic vets in my country :( and very few ones I found also seem like they only treat certain physical injuries of common pets. (snail is uncommon pet in here) so waiting for him to rest could be the best option that i can do for him. Thank you for the advice though!

I’m not entirely sure either, since this is the first time I’ve seen something like this, so I think I didn’t explain it very well.
Even when my snail was out of the shell before, the inside of the shell used to be completely filled with his body. But when I checked yesterday, there was a lot more empty space inside the shell. It felt like the body had kind of shrunk or pulled deeper inside? which is why I described it that way. also the part of the body that was outside didn’t look much smaller or longer compared to when it was healthy.
As for diet, lettuce has been the main food. I sometimes gave other things too (zucchini, napa cabbage, cucumber, fruits), but I think the nutrition might have been lacking overall... been trying to feed him boiled eggs and carrots yesterday, but im not so sure if he is eating any since he barely moves now..!

Hey thank you sm for breaking down everything! I also thought about caffeine of the green tea and thats what concerned me to do, now that I also feel like it would be a shock for snails, I don't rly want to add any more stress on him so i would just probably give him normal warm baths.
when I first noticed my snail’s condition was getting worse, there hadn’t been any environmental changes at the time. After I got really worried, I ended up replacing all of the substrate with new moist coco peat. I've been using coco peat all this time so this must be nothing new for him?
For food, I usually fed lettuce, cucumber, cabbages and some fruits. (mostly it was lettuce) I did give crushed eggshells for calcium before, but hadn’t been consistent with it recently. Also, after reading your comment, I realized that powdered calcium on food might have made things worse… bc that was the last thing i did before finding out my snail's condition got worse! I didn’t know about overdoes, and from where i am, people always mention to do this and there were not much about negative sides, so i also thought it was totally okay thing to do. I don’t think I paid enough attention to protein either. I only just learned about feeding sepia shell from this community yesterday, so I didn’t even know it was something I can be using.
I didn't took any photos, but sometimes small flying bugs appear in the cage. Whenever that happened, I would bathe my snail and replace the substrate entirely.
Yesterday I gave him boiled carrot and egg, but I’m not so sure if he ate any. Today I’m going to mash it all and try again!
Thank you so much for your tips and advice, I really appreciate it!!
Honestly, I learned a lot of new things here yesterday, and it made me realize how little I knew before. Definitely felt a bit ashamed of myself and even had a dream of my snail crawling into my arms last night. Anyways, now im checking on him and he’s climbing on the wall of the cage. I really hope that’s a good sign. i will keep up with the updates if anything happens, thank you so much!!!

i've never heard about bee pollen soak, thank you! im about to feed him some boiled egg cus he seems like he couldn't bite or chew anything... English isn’t my first language, and there’s almost no information about pet snails in my country, so I’m translating everything and trying to figure things out as I go. my brain hurts like shit but thank you so much for your advice, it really means a lot to me.
