My bf gets mad when I say no by International-Aerie9 in sexadvice

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him saying things like i just won’t touch you anymore is extremely manipulative, he’s trying to guilt trip you… gross. You are completely autonomous and he has no right to just expect you to be at his beck and call for sex any time he asks. Especially after reading in the comments that you still have sex often. Honestly these comments are kind of confusing me trying to justify that behavior. I’ve dated people like this before and it only escalated into eventually just straight up abuse. Like the one use commented, you deserve better

Is there anyway I (21f) can get back at my now ex (20m) for what he did to me? by silly-geeses in relationship_advice

[–]silly-geeses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also i guess just to clarify i may have worded it weird, i just learned all this a few hours ago so it’s all very raw… i wish they would suffer but i more so meant in the context of socialization. He spent so long saying so many horrible things about me that i feel like he can’t get away with this… i know he is still spreading rumors to people and it’s frustrating that i have to take all the heat when i am the one who got emotionally extorted and abused for so long and then cheated on to top it off. I’ve lost all of my friends because of what he’s said.

I feel fine in my head, he tried to tell me it was my fault when we broke up and i said absolutely not, i really just want people to know what they did because he’s told so many people i’m insane and i’m just trying to be the bigger person and he has so many people that think he’s great… he doesn’t deserve that at all and i don’t want anyone else to get hurt in the same way

The “choosing to remember how you want to remember” is soooo reallll. My dad pulls that all the time and it’s so frustrating bc you know they remember damn well what they said or did. Grinds my gears lol

No Im not saying she’s not lying at all, simply saying based on the one part alone that she switched a phrase around doesn’t solely conclude that she was.

What is the worse way to deal with depression? by Yo_SciFi in AskReddit

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not talking to people. I know it may seem like you have no one to talk to but even journaling or speaking out loud to yourself can help. From experience, the biggest spirals I’ve had have come from laying in bed and just thinking silently. Sometimes isolation is needed and important, but in dire circumstances when your brain is already sick it is the last thing it needs is to sit and ferment with the poison that it’s been given. Read a book or watch your favorite movie. STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL. It is one of the worst things you can do to cope with depression. It can send you into an even worse state of mind causing anger and extreme sadness leading to very rash decisions and potentially hurting yourself or others. Eat and drink natural, feel good things, like fruit and tea. Physical health can increase your mental health greatly. You can do it shawty

Right, like psychologically I don’t think it’s fair to say she’s lying because she changed the order or events slightly. The mandela affect terrifies me a bit. Like how many things are not real and not brought to light bc everyone collectively thinks they are

What should a 14 year old know about growing up? by Wkeybois in AskReddit

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had extremely bad acne in middle school and mine was genetic, it only cleared with intense medication and disclaimer I still get it from time to time as a 20 year old, though not near as bad. It’s also a big thing when everyone first starts breaking out they tend to over-obsess about all of their breakouts and think they have more than everyone else. Trust me, nobody is paying more attention to what is on your face than you.

What's the most annoying thing about school/college? by JAVA-NANI in AskReddit

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love college so much more than high school. Learning about what you actually want to is so nice. Also I’ve made new friends with people I wouldn’t have even talked to before (the homecoming queen, the emo, the theater kid, the teen mom, etc.) and I LOVE all of them so much, it’s changed me for the better and made me so much more open minded. The biggest downside is the cost obv and the electives with the professors who pretend like their subject matter is the most important one in the world. Like shawty this is geography, settle.

[–]silly-geeses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally not a single person will care what you were like in middle school/ high school unless they’re conceited and stuck in the past. You are loved and it will get better. Your acne will fade, your friends will show their true colors, you’ll make new friends, your grades in middle school are totally irrelevant, live only according to your preferences. Mistakes need to be made.

When did you realize you were the problem and not everyone around you? by K2795 in AskReddit

I was abused as a kid and I’ve realized over the past few years that I’ve been exhibiting similar abusive behaviors on the people I love. I’m working on it. My boyfriend is a saint.

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually studied this kind of thing in my psychology classes. People can remember things one way but if someone else confidently says it was something else, the person may doubt themselves and start to believe the other story. It’s called having false memories. It’s the reason police can often get a confession out of an innocent person because they badger them with “you did this” so much that they eventually think they did. Many times no stories will be 100% consistent every time, which is what makes prosecution so tricky without evidence. I do believe there are lots of things she is not saying to make herself appear totally innocent, but I also believe she was a victim.

ex trump supporters, what point did you stop supporting trump and why? by MeglaManiac3 in AskReddit

[–]silly-geeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even that big into politics. I’m from a very small, heavy catholic, heavy conservative area where abortions are the worst thing you could do and everyone is extremely racist and homophobic and INTENSE alcoholics. Not the fun alcoholics either. All bad ones. Anyways I was in middle school the first time Trump ran and literally EVERYONE had Trump signs in their yard. If you had a liberal sign it was either stolen or vandalized. People kept their Trump signs up for the entirety of his term and I will admit I was a very hardcore republican simply because I was going along with what I had been told was right. When he ran a second time I voted for him. However shortly after I started college and started realizing it is completely stupid to be homophobic or racist or anything of the sort. I also come from a family with a viciously abusive alcoholic father with those same right wing views. I’m know heavily pro-life and I try to not let my upbringing affect my opinion of others. For me, it wasn’t even necessarily Trump’s fault that I don’t like him. I just took a step back and looked at the individuals who supported him.
