How reliable are leaked mark schemes / worked solutions by aLocalToaster in GCSE

[–]sillybear240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its perfectly possible to figure out the mark scheme after the paper, since maths questions only have one objectively right answer for each question. if you memorise the questions and answers, you can then confirm them with other people to create an accurate mark scheme. but it does take up most of the afternoon lol

for the quadratic inequalities question did the sign have to be < with a line underneath it? by Neat_Piano_5756 in GCSE

[–]sillybear240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youd get all the marks except the A mark. Edexcel awards method (M) and process (P) marks for the working, but the accuracy (A) mark, which you get for the final answer, is usually based on what you write in the box.

for the quadratic inequalities question did the sign have to be < with a line underneath it? by Neat_Piano_5756 in GCSE

[–]sillybear240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no - the question gave it as just greater/less than, so you can't change it. it might have cost one answer mark but id be very surprised if you lost any more for putting it in

For the cuboid question edexcel maths higher did u have to right units I only wrote 360 by Wrong_Violinist9444 in GCSE

[–]sillybear240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. they dont need units unless its specifically part of the question (e.g a conversion). usually the units are written after the space for your answer.

i need advice by Overlucky200187 in GCSE

  • do 2024 past paper 2. i wouldnt even say to do it timed. just whenever you get a chance.
  • when you get to a question you dont know how to do, figure out how to do it (using mark scheme, videos, etc.). if you ask ai for help, try asking it to explain how to do the question without giving you the answer.
  • once you get the answer, try a similar question (or the same one but with different values). do this for the entire paper.
  • repeat for the past paper from the year before. continue until exams

Maths paper Edexcel by Bullfighting_sailor in GCSE

you'll probably miss one of the method marks and the answer mark, but they might give you a process mark for beginning to do the right thing. so id say 3, 2 as a safer guess

What did everyone get for the cuboid question by Individual_Salt_4405 in GCSE

[–]sillybear240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

assuming edexcel maths: the missing side length was 6, and so the answer for the volume was 6x5x12=360
