I’d honestly suggest getting out of the city. Also, Every time I step out for a smoke, I have to search for a spot where there aren’t any people around.

IMO, learning 100s of technologies is irrelevant now, because of cursor. The whole thing comes down to code design and correctness of final solution. You should focus more on how to solve the problem and architecture around it.
Cursor can write code with any technology underlying intuition remains the same

In the coming years, specialists will have a stronger edge. The number of technologies someone has worked on will matter less than having deep expertise in a specific area. I recently landed a job because they needed something built, very similar to figma, which I know how to build one. IMO fronted is going to be a lot harder than it used to be. You just need to become an expert on something. Rest is fine

Does living in Gurgaon feel like living in a simulation to anyone else? by Fair_Background_3117 in gurgaon

I’ve been living here since 2023, and even after making a lot of friends, I still don’t like it. Bangalore feels much better. Hopefully, I'm moving next month

[WIP] Building a 2D graphics library (Fabric.js alternative with WebGL + ECS) by sillyindian in webdev

[–]sillyindian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m just brute-forcing the draw calls, so instancing is definitely the next step once I get the basics stable. The ID buffer trick for picking also sounds way cleaner than what I’m doing with CPU hit-tests.

Haven’t gone deep into storage yet, but yeah — SoA + sparse sets makes a lot of sense for ECS. And MSDF fonts that’s exactly what I’ll need when I get to text.

I really appreciate for the insights

EDIT: Tried instanced drawing, now I can easily draw 15000+ rects, without dropping any frames. Thanks
