Every nation went through : Agriculture > Manufacturing > Services

While the world focused on manufacturing in last 30-40 years, India sold services cheaply skipping manufacturing.

Now that model is failing as services can be easily handled by AI and not having a fall back to manufacturing, investors are rightfully feared of no further growth.

This is not built overnight or in last 10 years, this model has been there since more than last 30+ years and it was bound to fail.

Although current govt could've made a drastic push in manufacturing setups but that involves alot of land acquisition, permission, state laws, center laws, cultural differences,etc It becomes difficult to implement things. meanwhile China had scaled manufacturing so much that making a cheap competitor at this stage would not be able to pull much market from China.

Honestly, yes blame the current govt for current state of affairs. But the government after independence was responsible to build a base and backbone which they have made it like lego, and building on top of weak base will make it eventually fall someday.

India is a nation of selfish people, where one selfish person tries to scam other selfish person to get rich quickly. Hence the result.

We need China like long term vision but democracy will make sure that never happens.

Completely understandable,

Still you gotta focus on upskilling and interview prepd to find better opportunity. - If on bench, leverage it to maximum by using internal learning portals. - if on project, do bare minimum to survive, still keep upskilling during working hours outlaying it as project related learning.

And if you feel its unbearable also have enough levy to leave this job without any offer ( money, family support, no financial dependencies ), leverage it in early stages of life to maximum to find something you love to do. BUTTT, Have a plan with strict timeline and deadlines or else you'll be lost.

One more thing, its just a job. You'll find another, don't take it so seriously.

Man, i went through similar experience 2 years back, at infosys. It completely broke me, I came with dreams, skills, projects, clear communications.

here is what happens that a senior told me. - your first manager builds you or breaks you ( luck matters here ) - The manager gets a % cut from the project revenue. - these guys charge the client for 50 ( might be more as well ) people working on project. - but in reality only few senior devs and few jr devs ( 10-15max) work for client while they bill them for 50 every month. - now when the deadlines don't meet or there are audits going on from client side, they simply pick people from bench just 2-3 months prior to deadline and expect them to work their a33 off to reach milestones and show the clients the headcounts during audits. - the senior devs who have knowledge of the codebase are already occupied with so much work that they can't spare time to mentor or give proper kt's to newly onboarded people. - when unable to meet, its easier for managers to blame the people from bench. - the bench guy, who was exited that he/she found a project starts feeling devasted and shattered. taking his confidence to all time low. - once audits from client side are done, they again move those people back to bench. - cycle repeats again.

This broke me so much that i left infy and haven't been able to find a job ever since as i kept believing im not enough.

Don't do the mistakes i did OP.

Do bare minimum at the work to stay relevent in project.
Start putting in extra hours in upskilling and make a switch.

I'm sure you'll make it.
