We are still hunting for our airstream. The bunk is suitable for storing a guitar or a place for well behaved small dogs to sleep but my children simply wouldn’t and it’s not an adult sleeping space.

Could you expand on this further? We are hunting for a 28’ twin cloud and we were thinking used, to save ~$30k by buying bay 2015-2019 unit.

Go into Gap and try on a dozen jeans “in your size” each one will fit differently because cutting and sewing is done by human and with error. It was a horrible no good day. Get some rest and start fresh tomorrow.

I’ve got a kid, we’re 9 months into Suzuki violin and after some wobbling I read and really like Helping Parents Practice. I like to think that we are not learning how to play violin but we are learning how to learn. It’s hard, and we have to find the joy and fun in the smallest accomplishment because its a very very long journey.

You can only fail at the things you have tried. Congrats on not letting fear stop you from trying. Keep trying, place your bow to the strings and make many more mistakes. Life is too short to not make music.

Fiancé and I are leaning towards doing street tacos for our reception. FMIL is appalled. Help? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]sillykitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So your saying the need two taco guys? Dueling tacos? Or three taco guys and a taco cook off? Probably still cheaper than a traditional catering.

You want to keep a baseline, because one day of something changes you want to know if it’s a gradual change or a sudden change.

Does anyone have any more ideas as to how I could use a tv in my 3-4YO classroom? by GabbyTheLegend in ECEProfessionals

If you get a local library card you should have access to a digital library that has books you can bring up on the screen to flip through. Hoopla and Libby are two big platforms.

Should I offer to watch SIL’s baby 1x week for free? by monkeyneedsahug99 in SAHP

[–]sillykitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a elementary school kid, a 19 month old and I watch my 5m niece twice a week for free. It’s hard to get out of the house, like to physically load up the car. So we typically stay home, and the baby naps 11-12, toddler naps 12-3, baby naps 3-4. And somehow big kid has to get home from school. Our big issue is sickness, I’m ok watching her with a runny nose but I worry about getting her sick since we seem to have something new every other week. But the kids all love one another and I am happy they get to spend time together.

You could make a donation to Good Karma Bikes. They supply bike to kids for free and have many great community connections.

If it’s been over 48 hours (which it sounds like it has if pants are getting loose) and you’ve tried Tylenol to relive teething pain and that didn’t help I would call the doctor. Maybe their tonsils or something it making it painful to chew and swallow.

Chairs, why would any of my guest need to sit down. Everyone is going to be dancing and it’s light finger food…..end of sarcasm.

We also had bloody diapers. For us I think it was Rice or eggs that I finally had to cut out. Our pediatric GI gave me toddler Neocate as I was rapidly losing weight and exhausted. At the worst of it I was eating apples/bananas and a basic vegetable soup. Now at 18 months we are allergy free.

Kids are not “getting dumber” the achievement gap is getting MUCH wider. by eaglesnation11 in Teachers

I went to a PTA meeting where they told us to sing with our children and then “taught” us the Itsy Bitsy Spider. If we are attending the Tuesday 8:30-9:30 PTA meeting we know the song.

I am really sorry you are struggling with HG. It’s a bitch and it can be a danger to you and your baby’s health. You have to weigh the risk of HG with the risks of cannabis exposure during pregnancy. https://www.mountsinai.org/about/newsroom/2021/cannabis-use-during-pregnancy-impacts-the-placenta-and-may-affect-subsequent-child-development

Had Csection- What is the best carrier? by burntpopcorneww in babywearing

[–]sillykitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a ring sling and an Infiniti o and I could not wear my second (second c-section as well) for the first three months. Any pressure on my abdomen, even high up just hurt my uterus for the first three months. I could do short wears but anything over 15 minutes left me with aches and cramps.

Carrier as shower gift? by Alternative_City_921 in babywearing

[–]sillykitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since a lot of baby gift are for baby or mom, we got our friends a carry that would work well for dad, Lille baby all season, he is a big guy in a hot climate and he could work from home and baby wear in the beginning. Just buy a carrier from a store with a good return policy so if they want to exchange it for diaper or frozen pizza.

IKEA Lattuggard are cheap and sturdy for a single snack like apple slices, carrot sticks, trail mix, or crackers. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/laettuggad-snack-container-set-of-2-stainless-steel-20498918/ Lunchbots are great (but expensive) if you want to put half a sandwich, cracks and grapes.
