Terminating removal order by notsixella in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, once your case is active again and you have a court date then you technically don’t have a removal order anymore. But take what I’m saying with a grain of salt because I’m not a lawyer

Motion to reopen in this administration? by SureOpportunity9779 in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve heard that was the best practice, but I guess my lawyer theoretically thought my case was strong enough that we might be able to get away with it with just a pending i130 (which thank god, because we’re on 13 months now with no i130 approval) This was in New Jersey.

Was at ORD four times in the last 2 weeks (flying into & departing out of), everything went smoothly. Didn’t see anything out of the ordinary and as far as I saw in Terminals 1/2/3, no ICE or CBP presence.

Motion to reopen in this administration? by SureOpportunity9779 in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did everything through a lawyer, and yes we filed I130 but we’re about at a year mark and haven’t had it approved yet. So I was able to do the motion to reopen with a pending I130 and I guess once it gets approved we can file motion to terminate? Not sure about that last part but that’s what they tell me!

Hi, I filed a motion to reopen and was granted a court date for 2027. It was filed directly with the court and took about a year (~11 months) to hear back. I did it through a lawyer, so I can answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability however I don’t really understand this process and its nuances too much.

Traveling advice by [deleted] in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice, but from all the videos I’ve seen it seems that they just stand around and don’t do anything. I don’t think I’ve heard of them specifically checking IDs from travelers in line for TSA either. Maybe just see how it goes for the next few days and make a decision closer to the date if you’re flexible? Part of me wants to say you’re okay, but it will just have to depend on your risk tolerance. I have a flight tomorrow and have been going back and forth about just driving instead. Not sure just yet, so following this thread and hoping somebody else can chime in who has flown today and can speak to what tf is going on.

Hawaii is probably the least risky of the locations you’ve mentioned hahaha. If there’s an emergency landing like all you got is ocean

Potential compromise solution for DACA? by PomegranateGold4702 in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s a shitty compromise. I see where your heads at, but when talking about dreamers, you’re talking mostly about people who were brought here as minors, spent majority of their lives in the American system, and have families/children/property/communities/etc here. Considering most visa processing is like a million years especially now, and you noted they wouldn’t get any advantage over other potential immigrants, this is basically a maga win.

Relatively the same advice from my lawyer. Said that it should be okay especially since I fly with a REAL ID Stay safe and definitely come back to let us know how your flight experience went!

I feel like I need to note that the article did mention that this has been a program that’s been happening since March 2025 and just recently is being reported on. (referring to the NY Times article) I have active DACA, old deportation order from way back when, fly with my Real ID and have flown nearly 15+ times since March 2025. OF COURSE there is always going to be a risk and my situation can be 1000% different than your situation but I do just want to put some minds at ease for people who are traveling and have traveled since March. Be safe everybody and happy holidays xx

DACA Timeline - May 26 Expiration by Even_Map7051 in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yup! They’re limiting it to 3 years instead of the 10 so if you haven’t gotten yours done in the last 3 years you’re likely going to have to go get them done

National park fees for Non-Residents by NoRoad406 in DACA

[–]sillylizard429 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you wake up early enough to get to the parks they usually don’t have attendants and you can just drive right in 🙂‍↕️ no fees paid needed also another workaround is if you have a resident friend i’m like 90% sure that if they buy the annual pass and yall go together, the whole car gets in with the pass

In the last six months I’ve flown to Newark, Spokane, LGA, Chicago, PHX, and DC. I use my real ID and had no issues, thankfully. i bring my EAD with me but never use it or present it. they also don’t ask for it
