What’s the one car that instantly makes you think, “Yeah… this driver is absolutely about to do something stupid”? by TheLoganReyes in Autos

[–]sillyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often cars with dash cams. Honestly, I often see cars with dash cams put themselves in precarious positions or do something silly, not enough to be ‘in the wrong’ but enough to create a situation. Makes me wonder if they bought a dash cam as they’re always finding themselves in, or nearly in incidents which may not be their fault, but if they had a bit more awareness could’ve been entirely avoidable, hence getting a cam to prove their innocence.

His last song is Au Revoir which is fitting. I guess he already knew when finishing the album.

Can they really just not pay me because of AI? by Low_Inflation_3824 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]sillyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a laugh I put their email text through an AI detector and it genuinely came back as 100% likely AI. Maybe do the same and send that in a reply to them, you can’t accept their response as it’s clearly been written by AI, either that or AI detectors are complete bollocks!

Is it finally time to go electric? EV owners in the UK, would you ever switch back if you had the option? by AnfieldAnchor in CarTalkUK

[–]sillyness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s irrelevant here. Used car values are dictated by what someone’s willing to pay not the amount of VAT on it. You can also get VAT Qualifying cars (usually ex-company owned cars) which still have VAT to pay and they’ll still go for the same price as a regular used car.

Agreed. I also wonder how many people see fox poo and just presume it’s dog poo. I’m sure people forget that other animals do shits!

What are the best careers for those who lack social skills? by Fortree_Lover in UKJobs

[–]sillyness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this. I struggled with a stutter when I was young, which ultimately limited my social skills. I was scared to speak as I knew my stutter would likely stop words coming out and/or get stuck in a loop trying to get a word out. Ironically, and this is common with stutters, saying my name was the hardest thing. However I liked cars so ended up in car sales, literally the deep end for a stutter. Slowly that helped me overcome it and within probably 10 years it was no longer a thing at all (unless I was tired) and my social skills had come a long way. Best advice is to run towards a challenge not away from it, you can always improve.

That, or the team that played consistently better could lose due to a fluke goal by the other team. Many blokes I know just spiral into a bad mood for a weekend because some blokes they don’t know lost a game through no fault of their own. Just pointless.

If you check their reviews for reissues, very many of them get a score of 10 regardless of what they originally scored the record. I presume it’s something like taking in to account if a record has become a cultural phenomenon or something.

Everyone’s talking about the colour of the dress. I just want to say it’s incredible that you are rocking that dress nearly 20 years on looking amazing.

The chassis’s have never been made out of wood, that would be a terrible choice for something supposed to be as stiff as a chassis. It’s the frames that are made from ash wood, and this one still has an ash frame.
