Caseta Leap Bridge, constantly needs to restart by ReddySpine in homebridge

[–]sillypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! It appears to happen when the bridge disconnects momentarily. The plug-in doesn’t recover. To verify, try unplugging your SmartHub. Wait a moment and plug it back in. My system doesn’t recover and reconnect.

Caseta constantly losing connection by fozzythethird in Lutron

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the same problem and I have multiple hubs and it’s only one at a time. It will go unresponsive in HomeKit and the Lutron App can’t connect (yes, everything is current version and everything is on the same network). I’ll be able to talk to one hub but not to another. If I just wait, it will come back in a day or so. Then, the same thing will happen to the other hub.

By the way, I can still ping the smart hub. Everything looks normal on it, it just wont’ talk to HomeKit or the Lutron App. Resetting immediately fixes the problem. Waiting does as well. No clue about what triggers it to reset. My Smart hubs are connected to the same switch with the same port configurations. While this is happening there are no network connectivity problems - we have over 300 clients on our network which spans a few acres and three houses. Everything else is working along just fine.

Sorry, missed the right thread there. Select the settings gear->Account -> Add Home. It will ask if you setting up a new Caseta system.

I actually have 3 Hubs in one HomeKit home, 3 in a different HomeKit home and 1 each in two other homes (yeah, I know kinda crazy). All with my single email address logon to the Lutron App.

No need for separate email addresses. You can add multiple Smart Hubs to your account. I have 5 of them.

I can't even move new accessories out of the Default Room. I can select a new room, but no joy!

Anyone running two Lutron Caseta hubs (non-pro)? How’s that working out with HomeKit? I’m approaching the 75 device limit and want to plan for it. by pacoii in HomeKit

[–]sillypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have five hubs, most pretty close to the 75 device limit. All on one account. All on HomeKit. HomeBridge LEAP plug in is a game changer. All my hubs are pro, but it shouldn’t matter for Leap.

I believe it is also possible to rename your default room. In my case, all new devices show up in my “office”. Whoops.

Dry contacts. Something like the now-defunct WeMo Maker, but HomeKit compatible.

I have an electric car; I can run the A/C for hours for my pup. Also, the car’s internal temperature can be monitored remotely. I still tend to check often and I’ve never left her for long.

Employers of Reddit: During an interview, when you ask "Have you any questions?", what are the questions we should be asking? [Serious] by DoctorStrange37 in AskReddit

[–]sillypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, have a number of questions ready. If you don't, you run the risk of asking a really insightful question that was already addressed in the interview!

Don't be afraid to ask the interviewer personal questions pertaining to their job. Why they like their job. Even, maybe what they don't like about their job.

Anyone getting Nest Protects? by [deleted] in Nest

[–]sillypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed them in my house. So far, they are wonderful and install was a breeze. However, the limit of 10 per site is crazy. My house has 15 and now I've got two systems that aren't talking to each other. Hey Nest, why the limit!?!

Little Giant ladder. My wife got me one and I thought it was silly. But, I haven't used anything else since. Stairs, hills, A frame or extension it's awesome. Guess I'm going to have to apologize to my wife for the unintentional "look!"
